Champion sprinter and fan favourite Chautauqua will be given a farewell at Randwick on The Everest day.
The ATC will give racing fans an opportunity to farewell one of the most popular horses in the country on Saturday week with βThe Grey Flashβ to lead out the field in the $13m Everest on October 13th.
Chautauqua was retired on Friday night after he again failed to jump in an official trial at Moonee Valley in which connections hoped would give him clearance to return to racing.
The Hawkes trained sprinter won six Group Ones including an infamous win in Hong Kong and retires with more than $8.8 million in earnings.
Chautauqua will also be given a farewell in Melbourne at Flemington on Saturday between Races 3 and 4.
