Complacent, one of the favourites for the Group One ATC Australian Derby, is out of the autumn because of injury.
Darley’s head trainer Peter Snowden advised Racing NSW stewards on Tuesday that the Group One-winning three-year-old had sustained an injury to the near fore leg and would miss the autumn.
Complacent rose to prominence last spring going from a Hawkesbury maiden win in September to winning the Group Three Gloaming Stakes and Group One Spring Champion Stakes at his next two starts.
The colt by Authorized rounded out his spring campaign with a second to Polanski in the Victoria Derby after striking interference 2000m from home.
With Complacent now out of the race, Polanski is the $3.50 TAB favourite for the Australian Derby ahead of Savvy Nature at $6.
