We say it so often, but it remains true … just where does the time go?
Itโs hard to believe that itโs been a year since the 2022 Newhaven Park Country Championships series kicked off, but the series is about to face the starter once again, kicking off with the running of the first qualifying race which will take place at Tuncurry on Sunday.
First run in 2015, the Country Championships was launched with the aim of promoting NSW country racing with the initiative giving the connections of horses from all around country NSW the opportunity to earn a place in the Country Championships final in Sydney on the first day of The Championships … a real prime time racing experience.
Each contest in the seven-race series… plus two wildcard races … will be worth $150,000 leading up to the $500,000 showdown in Sydney.

Saturday, 25 February – Albury – 1400m – Southern Districts.
Sunday, 26 February – Tamworth – 1400m – Hunter & North West.
Sunday, 5 March – Moruya – 1400m – South East.
Sunday, 12 March – Coonamble – 1400m โ Western.
Friday, 17 March – Goulburn – 1400m – Southern Wild Card.
Sunday 19 March – Scone – 1400m – Northern Wild Card.
Saturday, 1 April – Royal Randwick – 1400m – the Newhaven Park Country Championships Final.
