Cox Plate prize money increased to $5million

The Cox Plate has now become Australia’s richest WFA race with the Moonee Valley Racing Club increasing the prize money to $5million dollars.

The Cox Plate was worth $3,000,000 although with the recent increases in prize money for the Queen Elizabeth Stakes it was dethroned as the richest WFA race in Australia which it has now regained with the increase of $2million.

With the announcement of the increase of prize money for the Cox Plate the Melbourne Racing Club has also increase the Caulfield Cup to $5million.

The 2018 Cox Plate market is dominated by Winx who is the $1.55 favourite.
