Emerging star Craig is on track for a tilt at the $2.5 million All-Star Mile at Flemington on March 8, 2025, with trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young eyeing the race as a potential stepping stone to Group 1 success.
Busuttin is optimistic about the European-bred four-year-old’s trajectory, highlighting Craig’s continued development.
“In the spring, he was still a three-year-old being European bred. He’s still got a lot of improvement and maturing to do,” Busuttin said.
After a month-long paddock spell, Craig has returned to training stronger and more seasoned.
Craig’s recent form includes a win at Caulfield and placings in the Group 1 Toorak Handicap and Group 3 Sandown Stakes.
While the All-Star Mile remains the primary goal, races like the Group 1 Orr Stakes could feature in his early 2025 campaign.
“If he’s not in the race, it means he’s not going well enough to get there,” Busuttin noted, confident in Craig’s potential to excel at the top level.
