Top Victorian jockey Damian Lane has been confirmed to ride O’Ole in next Saturday’s Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield, taking over from Tommy Berry, who guided the filly to victory in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.
Trainer Bjorn Baker announced the booking on Tuesday, confirming the filly is locked in for the $2 million feature.
Baker remains confident in O’Ole’s chances, despite no Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner having gone on to claim the Blue Diamond Stakes.
“She is definitely coming with Damian Lane booked to ride. We’ve even had a gallop left handed. She went very well,” Baker said.
“The Magic Millions form is already stacking up very well,” he added.
O’Ole will now complete her final preparations ahead of her bid to make history as the first Magic Millions-Blue Diamond double winner, with Lane’s big-race experience a key asset heading into the race.
