Ethan Brown’s recovery ahead of schedule

Ethan Brown is making strides in his recovery following a serious fall during the Australian Guineas in March.

Initially facing a minimum six-month absence, the Group 1-winning hoop is optimistic about returning to trackwork by the start of the upcoming season, but he is mindful of not rushing his comeback.

“I’m back into some light exercises at the gym, just to build my strength up once again,” Brown told racing.com.

“The signs my body has shown me already have been promising, so I should be back soon.”

Brown’s journey back to full fitness has been arduous, with significant internal injuries, including a grade-five lacerated liver, major internal bleeding, and hairline fractures to his lower vertebrae.

He even lost his voice for nearly a month after undergoing multiple surgeries due to severe blood loss.

“I always just look back at how lucky I was and don’t get too far ahead of myself, I know I will be back eventually,” Brown expressed.

“After the extent of my injuries, I’ll bring myself up slowly and try to avoid any further potential injury.”

Brown credits the support of his inner circle for aiding in his positive mindset throughout the recovery process.

He recognizes the importance of taking it slow and allowing his body to heal, acknowledging the remarkable progress he has made so far.
