Faraway Town will have a minimal spring campaign, with the autumn carnival shaping as the main target for her three-year-old season.
Trainer Matthew Smith said the Group One-placed filly had been given a long break to recuperate from a long two-year-old preparation.
“She’s had a good spell,” Smith said.
“She’s had three months off because she had a long prep last time in.”
Faraway Town had seven runs in her first campaign which started in October last year and stretched to April when she finished fourth in the Group One Champagne Stakes.
Her best performance came when she ran third behind Yankee Rose and Telperion in the Group One Sires’ Produce Stakes at Randwick.
“She was in work a long time so we decided to give her a good break.
“She’ll just have a light spring.”
Faraway Town’s ownership group includes Smith’s wife Melissa.
Although she has only one win beside her name, the filly has earned more than $220,000 prize money from her seven starts.
She has also given her owners a $325,000 bonus as the first all-female owned horse home in the Magic Millions in January in which she finished sixth.
