The Michael Freedman stable is making headlines again with two promising juveniles poised to dominate the racing scene.
Apocalyptic, a $400,000 Magic Millions purchase, debuts in the Petaluma Handicap (1100m) at Royal Randwick.
The two-year-old filly, opening at $7 with betting sites, has impressed in trials, including a dominant Hawkesbury win.
Freedman described her as “a very nice filly” but noted the challenge ahead.
“This is a strong two-year-old race, probably stronger than I expected … but I think she can acquit herself well,” he said.
Meanwhile, stablemate Pallaton is already making waves. The colt’s dazzling debut win last Saturday earned him equal 2025 Golden Slipper favouritism at $15.
After a brief spell, Pallaton will resume in the Silver Slipper on February 22.
“He pulled up really well,” Freedman confirmed.
With Apocalyptic’s debut and Pallaton’s rise, Freedman continues to cement his reputation as a master of two-year-olds, following his 2021 Golden Slipper success with Stay Inside.
