A collision between a horse-truck and two cars on the Olympic Highway earlier today has had a sad aftermath with one of the four horses involved in the incident unable to be saved.
The horses were being transported to todayโs Albury race-meeting when the accident occurred just after twelve oโclock this afternoon.
All of the horses involved were from the stable of the Wagga Wagga based trainer Doug Gorrel, who received treatment from paramedics after the crash, along with the stable apprentice Molly Bourke and two other people.
The horses were treated by a veterinarian at the scene.
The four runners that were due to be engaged in the Albury meeting were Amen Brother, Dantainโs Magic, Sir Savaluca and Tinge Of Ginge.
Bourke had been due to ride in six of the seven races at Albury.
The crash is being investigated by police.
