Impressive early results for 2025 Magic Millions sales at the Gold Coast

The second day of the 2025 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale closed with impressive figures, headlined by a $2.3 million I Am Invincible-Eloping filly sold to Laguna Partnership and John Sargent Racing. This filly, a full sister to Coolmore winner In Secret, was described by co-breeder Michael Christian as “outstanding,” benefiting from her sister Kerber’s trial performance.

Vendor Segenhoe Stud expressed satisfaction with the sale, which also saw a Snitzel-Fashion Faux Pas colt fetch $1.7 million, bought by Tom Magnier for Coolmore. “Very athletic with plenty of scope—Chris Waller will train him,” said Magnier.

The sale saw 352 of the 480 catalogued lots sold, generating a total of $97,555,000. The average sale price stood at $277,145 with a median of $200,000. The clearance rate from the first two days was an impressive 81.3%.

Leading buyers included Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, along with Kestrel Thoroughbreds, who collectively spent $4,485,000 across 12 lots.

Barry Bowditch, Managing Director of Magic Millions, noted the improved clearance rate from Day One and emphasised the “healthy and genuine trade” seen at the sale. He highlighted the strong demand for elite fillies, particularly the top lot of the day.

Day Three of the sale is expected to continue this strong trend with high anticipation for more top-tier sales.
