Jamie Kah has led the way for female riders this season
Jamie Kah has led the way for female riders this season, setting a new standard of 130 winners.
Kah’s final winner for the season came at Gawler on Sunday and she was three clear of Linda Meech whose season ended early because of suspension.
The strength of female riders in South Australia was demonstrated by Kah winning the Adelaide premiership from Clare Lindop and Emily Finnegan who was also the leading apprentice.
The previous record for a woman in Australia was jointly held at 111 by Lindop and Meech.
In NSW, Rachael Murray became the first of her gender to reach 100 winners and ended 2016/17 on 118.
