Star NSW hoop Adrian Layt has appealed on social media for all NSW resident’s to get vaccinated.
And his request is totally, 100% selfishly understandable as yesterday his little family was dealt a savage blow.
Layt, in order to continue riding, has had to be away from his wife and three kids for several weeks now. A fact that is gutting many, but made worse for Adrian and his partner Carolina.
“Yesterday we received some life-changing news that has left us a little worse for wear,” said Layt.
“Our son Liam has been diagnosed with muscular dystrophy and he is just 4 years old.”
Words of support and sympathy poured in this morning from all across the country when the news broke.
Race caller Anthony Manton was quick: “Geez mate, so sorry to hear, and thoughts with you and Carolina.”
Gary Crisp who runs Racing and Sports added, “Sorry to hear that Adrian. It’s just not fair. Liam will be tough like his dad.
“Let’s hope all the tests come back better than expected.”
Layt was moved by the support and added, “I’m asking everyone in NSW from the bottom of my heart, could you please get your vaccination done so I can go home to my little boys, especially Liam, as I don’t want to waste time with him.”
On what is already a sombre day for us all as we remember 9-11, this just adds to how we all need to find care, support, help for one another.
Hope U all R OK with that.
