The Moonee Valley Racing Club has confirmed that the winner of this year’s Group 1 Juddmonte International will once again earn a golden ticket into the prestigious Cox Plate. The 2063-meter race, set for Wednesday, is the final qualifier in the Cox Plate International Invitational series.
This year’s Juddmonte International features two Cox Plate nominees: Docklands, trained by Harry Eustace, and Hans Anderson, trained by Aidan O’Brien. City Of Troy is the current favourite at $2.
MVRC Head of Racing, Charlotte Mills, praised the Juddmonte as one of the world’s premier 2000-meter races, noting its alignment with the Cox Plate’s prestige. “It’s fantastic to see two Cox Plate-nominated horses in the race this year,” Mills said.
The continuation of the golden ticket status solidifies the Juddmonte International as a key global qualifier, with significant implications for the upcoming Spring Carnival in Australia.
