Leading trainer Kris Lees wants to make an impact at Port Macquarie races this afternoon.
Despite it being wet.
He will send nine horses by float to the meet and each one of them as a great chance.
These are Chris Waller-like numbers.
There are 8 races on the card and Lees has a great chance to land 3 winners, quite possibly 5!
His best hopes are:
Race 2: EXCELNESS (Exceed and Excel – Dearness). This unraced filly was cantering all the way when narrowly winning a trial and the horse who ran 2nd, Pandora Blue, has since won two in a row. Looks very fast. Wet track is a worry but these speedy types tend to get through it.
Race 3: CARTOGRAPHY (Press Statement – L’Amoureuse) a 3YO who was 3rd on debut and a really pleasing 3rd at Tamworth where he finished hard from well back. Looks ready to pounce.
Race 6: CONTINUATION (Firente – Testama) today he is 4th up and as a stayer, a stout stayer at that, he has needed the runs to get him in top shape. Ran 5th in the mud at Newcastle last start in what was a slightly tougher race.
Race 7: UNEARTHED (Written Tycoon – Fritzβs Princess) who grows a leg when it is wet. And is coming off a last start 2nd in this grade, when beaten a nose. Looks a special.
Lees saddles up Spiritual Power (Race 8); Misterzee (race 5); and Olympic Time, Crackalacka and Dunara (race 4).
It has been a long time since a trainer landed 5 winners or more at a TAB meeting.
