Jockey Michael Walker has been brought out of an induced coma on Friday and has been communicating with doctors.
A fall at the Pakenham jump-outs on Tuesday resulted in Michael Walker being air-lifted to hospital.
Walker was airlifted to hospital on Tuesday morning after the horse he was riding collapsed.
The Victorian Jockeysโ Association said following scans at the Alfred Hospital, Walker had been cleared of internal injuries but was put into ICU with concussion.
Walker was drifting in and out of consciousness while being treated on track at Pakenham for an hour before being airlifted to hospital.
Pakenham has not been a happy track for Walker who spent 12 months on the sidelines following a fall there in May 2021, which required the jockey undergoing a knee reconstruction.
Walker returned to the saddle in May and had ridden 10 winners in his comeback prior to Tuesday morningโs fall.
