Talented filly Military Tycoon could have one more feature autumn run before a spell to target the Group 1 Coolmore Stud Stakes next spring.
Managing owner Nathan Bennett revealed on Saturday that the filly, who finished ninth in the Golden Slipper, has shown positive signs since her performance in the high-pressure race.
“The team’s pretty happy with her and she’s really into her tucker, so we’re a chance to go to the Percy Sykes in a couple of weeks,” Bennett said. “If she goes there, she’d go to the paddock and be set for a Coolmore in the spring.”
Bennett also shared that trainer Ciaron Maher is keen to target the Coolmore, noting that Military Tycoon loves the straight and possesses plenty of talent.
After a first-up win in the G3 Ottawa Stakes, Military Tycoon travelled wide in the Golden Slipper, fading late. However, Bennett said, “She’s come through the Slipper really well… she’s in the top 10 two-year-olds in Australia.”
She has firmed into $11 for the Group 2 Percy Sykes Stakes at Randwick on April 12.
