New South Wales jockey Melinda Kinny has been banned for nine months after testing positive to a banned substance.
The 33-year-old returned a positive urine sample at a meeting at Goulburn on Sunday, 27 May 2018.
She was stood down from all riding and handling duties for a period of nine months backdated to July 3rd 2018, on which day she was stood down by NSW Stewards, and to expire on April 3rd 2019.
Stewards advised that they would suspend the final 3 months of Ms Kinny’s suspension should she complete a satisfactory period of drug counselling, allowing her to resume working as early as January 3 2019.
Stewards did not name the substance, charging Ms Kinny under AR81A, which covers alcohol and other drugs.
