Legends of the past and present will be celebrated in a night of racing excellence when the Australian Racing Hall of Fame and Australian Racehorse of the Year awards are held in Perth.
The two events, hosted by Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA), will coincide with The Pinnacles spring racing carnival at Ascot.
RWWA Chief Racing Officer David Hunter said it was an honour to host the event which attracts the best of the best in thoroughbred racing across the country.
“The Australian Racing Hall of Fame and Australian Racehorse of the Year awards are the peak of recognition in our industry, highlighting the achievements of the season and paying tribute to the individuals who have made a significant impact on the sport,” David said.
“The Pinnacles provides the perfect backdrop for this momentous occasion, allowing attendees to experience the best of WA racing, while also enjoying a beautiful season in Perth.”
Racing Australia’s Chief Executive Paul Eriksson said he was thrilled the event was taking place in WA alongside the five-week premium racing carnival.
“It is a wonderful time of year to be in Perth, and RWWA will no doubt put on magnificent display,” Paul said.
“The joint awards will showcase thoroughbred racing excellence over the 22/23 season and the achievements of those in the industry who have made notable lifetime contributions to our great sport.”
The combined awards ceremony will take place at Optus Stadium on Thursday, 23 November 2023, leading to the Group 1 $1.5 million Railway Stakes on Saturday, 25 November 2023.
