Pregnancy certainly agrees with this increasingly improving mare INVICTUS SALUTE (Exceed and Excel-Acquired) after she carried her rather valuable cargo to victory in the Listed Starlight Stakes over 1100m at Rosehill.
The $140,000 race proved a repeat of the recent Bm100 race where SPACE BOY (Deep Field-Miatoko) with Kathy OโHara on board led the 1100m affair at a super fast clip only to be run down by Invictus Salute.
He did the same here, too, only to be nabbed by her late with grand warrior VIRIDINE (Poetโs Voice-Patina) dashing from the tail to grab 3rd.
The heavily backed fav Snitz didnโt fire a shot after travelling handy and weaken to be near last.
Invictus Salute, however, was the star โ well, almost the star as big a star as her rider Rachel King, on the day. She (the horse NOT Rachel) is in foal to the almighty stallion of the moment, I Am Invincible making her baby, if a colt and well put together, worth close a million dollars.
King, had ridden three winners on the card prior to this impressive win, giving her four.
She is getting horses in the right spots, and she is getting them to stretch out and try their very best for her.
