Strange scenes at Bendigo on Friday afternoon which has seen the result in Race 5 overturned in bizarre circumstances.
As the race came to it’s final moments three horses were all in contention and to the naked eye the result was too close to call.
The judge went to the photo finish and shortly after the numbers were posted.
Horse 2, Archery Peak, was declared the winner in a tight photo from Look At Me Now and House of Stars in third position.
But it was a senior steward who was weighing the riders in who took the photo finish to the judges.
After a closer examination the result was overturned with the result completely overturned and House of Stars was declared the winner.
At first glance the photo appears to show the outside horse, Archery Peak, with it’s head down crossing the line. On closer inspection you can clearly see it’s House of Stars with it’s nose down.
