A South Australian jockey has been suspended for two weeks after he was caught on video punching his mount in the stomach before a race at Port Lincoln today.
South Australian stewards found Dylan Caboche guilty of misconduct after striking his mount prior to loading.
Caboche was on board the Allan Jarvis-trained She’s Reneldasgirl when she became fractious at the barriers in which the young jockey jumps off and punches the horse in the stomach out of frustration.
Caboche’s ban won’t begin until midnight on Friday 17th November with the jockey able to return to racing on December 1.
