Dual Group 1 winner Helmet and the promising Smart Missile head 277 nominations for the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m), to be run on October 8.
Nominations were also taken today for the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m), the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) and the Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m).
As expected, Golden Slipper winner Sepoy and TJ Smith winner Benfica were not entered, meaning Helmet is the only current Group 1 winner entered.
Singapore’s Dark Matter is also a non-entry after disappointing on Saturday.
Other standout nominations include Golden Slipper fourth Masthead, So You Think’s brother Now You Know and impressive Sydney galloper Startreusse.
