Stable stalwart on the move

One of the integral people in the Ciaron Maher and David Eustace stable is on the move to join forces with another stable in a training partnership.

Lucy Yeomans is set to join Lloyd Kennewell in a training partnership at Cranbourne from the start of the new season.

Yeomans will switch Cranbourne bases next month and join Kennewell Racing ahead of beginning her new role as training partner from August 1.

“We know that Lucy has been an integral part of the Ciaron Maher/David Eustace success for the past decade, and this has seen her role grow all the way to being Assistant Trainer,” Kennewell Racing said in a statement.

“In this time, she played a pivotal role in preparing horses such as Group 1 winning mare Coolangatta and 2022 Melbourne Cup winner Gold Trip just to name a few.

“We have seen the incredible success Annabel Neasham has had since departing the same sort of role and we feel Lucy has similar attributes, drive and passion to see her have amazing success in the very near future.”

Yeomans move to Kennewell Racing will see Jack Turnbull become Maher and Eustace’s Assistant Trainer at their Cranbourne stable with Declan Maher promoted to Assistant Trainer at Ballarat.

A statement from Ciaron Maher Racing said Yeomans had been pivotal in the growth of the stable.

“Her passion for the horses has always shone through in her work and the way our horses are trained and presented on race days is a reflection of her attention to detail,” the statement said.

“We’d like to thank Lucy for her hard work, dedication and significant contribution to the success of the stable over the last decade and wish her nothing but the best for the future.

“She’s a talented, passionate young woman with an incredibly bright future and while it will be strange to compete against her in the future, no one can take away the indelible mark she has left on this organisation.”
