The Group 1 Tancred Stakes meeting will go ahead on Tuesday after persistent rain prompted officials to postpone the 10-race card.
The track was rated a slow 7 on Saturday morning but with 50mm of rain forecast to fall throughout the day, an early call was made to move it.
Speaking on Sydney radio on Saturday morning, chief steward Steve Railton said while it was likely the surface would hold up for a race or two, the forecast was ominous and he could not have “any level of comfort that we’d get through more than a race or two and that would be wasting everybody’s time.”
Following consultation, racing officials confirmed the meeting would now be held at Rosehill on Tuesday, with all race fields to stand and scratchings to be reinstated.
The development has necessitated the barrier trials scheduled for that day to be moved back to Friday.
Saturday’s provincial meeting at the NSW Central Coast was also washed out with the Provincial-Midway Championships Wild Card (1350m) added to Thursday’s Wyong program.
The Rosehill card features the return of globetrotting stayer Dubai Honour in the Group 1 Tancred Stakes (2400m) and the Sydney debut of star filly Treasurethe Moment in the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m).
