Trainer Tony Gollan has his sights set on Magic Millions glory, with key decisions looming for his juvenile stars Hi Barbie and La Bella Boom, while Golden Boom leads his hopes in The Syndicate.
Hi Barbie is assured a spot in next week’s $3m Magic Millions 2YO Classic, but Gollan remains cautious after the filly experienced a heart condition in her last start.
“She worked very well here on Tuesday, she is very fresh and well in herself,” Gollan told racenet.
The final decision will come by Tuesday, with her readiness under close scrutiny.
La Bella Boom is confirmed to contest Saturday’s QTIS Gold Pearl (1100m), where she is the $3.80 second favorite.
A strong performance could secure her place in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.
Gollan praised her maturity after a strong barrier trial.
“She is the most ‘ready-made’ juvenile in my stable,” he said.
Golden Boom is the stable’s leading contender for the $1m The Syndicate after a targeted preparation.
Despite a recent heavy-track disappointment, Gollan is confident.
“He is in good shape and it has been a brilliant preparation,” he said.
