Hugh Bowman was having his first ride after more than a month out of the saddle and he may well not be seen in the saddle for a long time after he caused a sickening fall in the first at Rosehill on Saturday.
Hugh Bowman was riding the well backed favourite Smart Image in the Sky Racing Active Handicap at Rosehill and was boxed away in the straight before he carelessly shifted his horse into Hot ‘N’ Hazy which fell due to the interference throwing jockey Andrew Adkins off in the process.
The latest information on Andrew Adkins is that he is conscious but has been transported to Westmead hospital for further observation, Hot ‘N’ Hazy is still being attended to by on course vets.
