Jockey Tyler Schiller finds himself at the centre of speculation as punters debate whether his ride in the Magic Millions Wyong 2YO Classic affected the performance of race favourite Spywire.
Spywire, the $2.05 favourite for the race, lead throughout the race and had opened up a 3 length margin on the field in the home straight.
There’s no doubt Schiller was caught by surprise when Highness, ridden by Tommy Berry, flew home late to finish over the top of Spywire.
The official margin was 0.65 of a length and while some punters argue that had Schiller ridden the horse out in the straight, Spywire would have won the race, others contend that it wouldn’t have made a difference.
