Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott showcased their versatility by securing wins in the first two maiden hurdle races at Warrnambool, just days after claiming their eighth Golden Slipper.
Okataina and Elementry led throughout, with both horses ridden by Ross O’Sullivan, who celebrated his first double.
The four-year-old geldings, making their jumps debut and second start respectively, also set course records in their victories.
Okataina broke a record standing since 2015, with Elementry further improving the time.
O’Sullivan expressed satisfaction with his double but sympathised with sidelined jockey Campbell Rawiller.
Having arrived in Australia in 2018, O’Sullivan credited his hard work for the success, stating, “I’ve put a lot of work in and I’m glad to see it paying off.”
