Debbie Kepitis, known for co-owning Winx, secured the champion mare’s $10 million yearling at the Easter Yearling Sale.
With a 33.3 percent share in Winx, Kepitis’s ownership mirrored her stake in the Pierro filly before Monday’s sale.
Initially not planning to repurchase the filly, Kepitis developed a strong bond with the youngster in the weeks leading up to the auction.
Now, her Woppitt Bloodstock will pay $6.6 million to complete the acquisition.
Trained by Chris Waller, Winx’s former mentor, the filly’s racing future remains unclear regarding additional partnerships.
