Leading jumps jockey William McCarthy will be discharged from the hospital on Monday morning following a fall at Casterton. McCarthy dislocated his shoulder while riding Paul Prueskerβs Killourney in the second race on Sunday.
The incident occurred in the home straight on the first lap, leaving McCarthy in pain. Killourney continued without his rider but was safely captured, as were the other fallers in the race, Rising Renown and Maatsuyker.
The Victorian Jockeys Association confirmed that McCarthy would be released from the hospital later on Monday.
