Wiremu Pinn’s city claim reduced by stewards

Racing Victoria (RV) stewards have swiftly altered New Zealand apprentice Wiremu Pinn’s city claim from three kilograms to two ahead of today’s Sandown meeting amidst a probe into miscommunication between RV and New Zealand authorities.

“It has been determined on the information available that the number of New Zealand wins currently attributed to Pinn’s metropolitan claim is incorrect,” the RV stewards announced, pointing to a possible discrepancy that led to the inquiry.

In the wake of this revelation, stables booked with Pinn for today’s races were informed they could “make application for a replacement rider or can scratch their horse” if they chose not to proceed with the reduced claim.

Despite these issues, Pinn has made a noteworthy entrance in Victoria’s racing scene, with the apprentice jockey, loaned to Cranbourne trainer Mick Kent, already bagging five wins out of 29 rides.
