Bagalollies becoming a very sweet broodmare

So where would you rate this broodmare BAGALOLLIES in the pantheon of greats?

She was already a superstar prior to the weekend, but after the past 72 hours, OMG, hasn’t she become something incredible?

The sweetly named Bagalollies (Zabeel-Lady’s Night) herself a 2 x winner on the track is now making a case of mum-of-the-decade.

Firstly, she produced the New Zealand Gr 1 winner who went on to become one of the best ever Hong Kong gallopers in WERTHER (Tavistock-Bagalollies).

He was named Horse of the Year and Champion Middle Distance Horse in Hong Kong for the 2015-16 season. He won 3 x Gr 1 races in HK and overall was placed another 8 times at Gr 1 level in Australia, HK and Japan. He won the equivalent of $13.4million in Aussie dollars.

Next came his full-brother GOBSTOPPER who has won 10 races and was so game yesterday under 70kg at Warrnambool running down the odds on favourite Runaway in the 3200m Galleywood Hurdle. He’s now won $402,000 in prizemoney.

Then came their little sisters…firstly MILSEAIN who has won 4 races and was Gr 1 placed in the NZ Oaks.

And last Saturday at Morphettville, Chris Waller produced the 4th of the 4 winners Bagalollies has had. That being TOFFEE TONGUE in the Gr 1 Australasian Oaks.

She railed through to win the Gr 1 Oaks brilliantly and is now a legit Gr 1 Melbourne Cup chance later this year. She has now won $413,000 in prizemoney.

There is a yearling full-brother out there too.

You’d have to go a long way to find a better broodmare record than that.
