In also winning the Fred W Hooper Stakes and finishing second in the Westchester Stakes when beaten half-length by Gr1 winner Code of Honor, Endorsed earned a 113 Equibase Speed Figure.
Retired from racing when injured in training for the Pegasus World Cup, Endorsed broke his maiden as a 2yo in a 6 furlong MSW race at Saratoga, running 1:11.22 and a 103 Equibase Speed Figure.
Two starts later he won a Belmont allowance race in a fast 1:08.78, and being placed in eight stakes races he 7 races and $970,133 in stakes, with Equibase Speed Figures of 100 or more 20 times.
A bay foaled in 2016, and bred by Godolphin is from Gr1 Gazelle Stakes winning Tapit mare Dance Card, who was third in the Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Sprint, being the family of La Troienne.
In being half-brother to champion Cody’s Wish, who also like Endorsed will be entering his second season, he won the Breeders’ Cup Mile as a 4yo and 5yo, and was Champion Older Dirt Male.
Also in his second season at Northview, Engage represents the successful cross of Into Mischief with Speightstown mares that’s produced Grade 1 sprinters Mia Mischief and Mischievous Alex.
Son of three-time champion sire Into Mischief, Engage competed as a top level sprinter throughout his 19-start career, having been a $200,000 Keeneland yearling and later a $550,000 2yo buy.
A ‘daylight’ winner of the Belmont Grade 3 Futurity Stakes, and from 2 to 4 yrs never worse than fourth in 13 starts including the Breeders’ Cup Sprint Grade 1, having had 7 wins and $802,780.
In a 7-race streak of firsts or seconds from 2 to 3 in New York, he won the 6f Gold Fever Stakes in 1:09.95, plus second in Gr2’s Woody Stephens and Amsterdam Stakes and Gr3 Bay Shore Stakes.
At 4 years he captured the Keeneland Grade 2 Phoenix Stakes from eventual Eclipse Award-winning sprinter Whitmore, and Grade 1 winners Lexitonian, Hog Creek Hustle and Promises Fulfilled.
In addition, Elusive Quality’s Great Notion has been Maryland’s Stallion of the Year annually since 2016, with 55 stakes horses at 16%, 78% winners to starters, and $80,000 average per starter.
As sire of multiple stakes winner Coastal Mission, Twisted Ride, Alwaysinahurry, Great Notion is a grade 1 placed Stakes winner, being the family of Gr1 sire Talinum, Frist Prayer, Matin d’Ete
With Hoppertunity being second to California Chrome in the 2016 Dubai World Cup Gr1, he also took out the Clark Handicap Gr1, Jockey Club Gold Cup Gr1 and San Antonio Stakes Gr2 twice.
From the male Mr Prospector sire-line of champion Forty Niner he’s out of Grade placed Refugee, and is half-brother to multiple Gr 1-winning juvenile filly Executiveprivilege, winner of $999,000.
As Mid-Atlantic’s leading 2019 freshman sire Golden Lad was also the 2020 sophomore sire, and 16% stakes horses to starter has stakes winners Hello Beautiful, Caprice, Air Token, Cinnabunny.
Finishing first or second in 10 of 15 starts, Golden Lad has a 11⁄16-mile track record of 1:41.17 at Gulfstream Park, being half-brother to Broadway’s Alibi, a $2.15m broodmare, and R Gypsy Gold.
