12/2/2025 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Sha Tin

Nine races will be run and won at Sha Tin on Wednesday with good depth across the program.

11 Falcon Court (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is the way I am going in the opener. He ran over this track/distance last time out when off speed, not using the inside gate to advantage, but kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat. If he can use the gate here, he should prove hard to beat.

4 Smart Leader (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a few weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance when off speed and chased well enough without threatening. He’ll likely spot them a start but should be strong late and can win for sure.

1 Wisdom Star (Bet Now:  $SP.00) drops to Class 5 and comes back to Sha Tin after racing at Happy Valley last start where he got too far out of his ground but didn’t mind the way he finished his race off in defeat. If he can be within range, he has the finale to be dangerous.

4 Sonic Boom (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes back to 1200m after racing over the mile on Jan 26 when trying hard but I just don’t think he ran the trip out, tiring late. Like him back in trip and he strikes a winnable race here for mine.

5 Speedy Smartie (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is a big improver after racing at this track/distance last start when wide no cover throughout and that hard run just told late in the piece. Maps to get a much better run in transit and his best is good enough to threaten.

3 Super Elite (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs, having not raced since Dec 29 when racing down the straight and just lacked the quality to go with them late. Up in trip is fine…I’d watch the market and see what it does.

9 Hinokami Kagura (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is several weeks between runs since racing at this track/distance where he got a fair way out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat. Tick over trial was good and if he can settle closer, he’ll take beating.

2 Lean Master (Bet Now:  $SP.00) doesn’t win out of turn but he is a model of consistency snd has a good racing style. That was the case last start when leading and giving a good sight but just felt the pinch late in the piece. Front end control, he’ll take running down.

6 Oriental Sunrise (Bet Now:  $SP.00) hasn’t raced since New Years Day over 1400m where on face value, he was too bad to be true, and the vet found something post race, pullomg uo with an irregular heart beat. Prior efforts were sound so don’t dismiss him.

3 Reliable Profit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is absolutely flying at present and has to be rated as one of the hardest to beat. Latest run was several weeks ago at this track/distance when getting a mile out of his ground but really liked the way he closed his race off in defeat. If he can settle closer, or get a drag into the race, he’s going to take beating.

7 Viva Chaleur (Bet Now:  $SP.00) should appreciate getting back up in trip after racing over the mile here last time. He got off speed but chased with purpose in the straight and was good in defeat behind Peter The Great. 1800m should be fine and is one of the key chances.

8 Snowalot (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is one I can entertain at a price. His recent runs have come at Happy Valley and while he hasn’t been winning, some of his efforts have been sound enough to my eye. Not sure I could back him to win but is one to include in exotics.

2 Bowser (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is worth a throw at the stumps here for mine. He comes back to 1200m after racing over the mile at Happy Valley last time when running okay but just think the mile was a bridge too far. Better set up here, maps ideally and should be strong at the end. Each way gamble.

7 Vulcanus (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing very well at present and commands respect. His latest effort saw him finish second at this track/distance, getting a mile back but charged late to just miss out on the win. If he can be within range on the turn, he has the finale to win.

3 Riding High (Bet Now:  $SP.00) gets the Blinkers first time and that could well sharpen him up enough to threaten. His recent effort at this track/distance was plain but he has trialled well since so I’d watch the market and see what it does.

Overall, it looks a tricky meeting but the first of two good things comes here in the shape of 1 Lucky Touch (Bet Now:  $SP.00), who has been racing really well at present and it wasn’t hard to miss his last start at this track/distance when back near last but worked home with real purpose late in the piece behind Peter The Great. If within range, his finale will be too much for his rivals.

8 Sky Vino (Bet Now:  $SP.00) looks to be a working progress for Casper Fownes and is the one with scope/upside. Latest run was at this track/distance when just off the speed and while he had his chance, he battled away really well in defeat I thought. Has a gate to get run of the race and is a threat.

10 Smiling Collector (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is racing like a mile will suit. He ran over 1400m last start when off speed snd was a bit one paced when asked for the effort but he stayed on and was pretty good in defeat I thought. Not sure he wins but can run top four.

4 Full Credit (Bet Now:  $SP.00) on top for me. Mark Newnham trained gelding that ran over this track/distance last time out when getting the suck run in transit and tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the job. That said, he was game in defeat behind Gorgeous Win. Maps ideally and strikes a winnable race.

1 Flying Ace (Bet Now:  $SP.00) is dangerous with his best. He ran over this track/distance last time out when back in the run and was never really a threat behind the flying Raging Blizzard. Tick over trial was pretty good to my eye and has the right form around him.

7 Bundle Of Charm (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes through the Gorgeous Win race mentioned above. He got off speed and chased well enough in the straight but did have his chance I thought when fifth. Gets some headgear to sharpen him up and he is talented enough to take this out.

I will be stunned if 9 Mojave Desert (Bet Now:  $SP.00) doesn’t run top three. He is flying and just has the perfect map here. Latest run was over 1200m at Happy Valley last time when off speed and worked home with purpose when fourth to Beauty Destiny. Maps to stalk the speed and prove hard to get past. Only runs well and is the second good thing on the program.

2 Mask Rider (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has been kept on ice since an all the way win at this track/distance, making his Hong Kong debut and produced sustained speed from the front, giving nothing else a look in to win and win well. Looks the leader again and with upside, takes running down.

1 Self Improvement (Bet Now:  $SP.00) comes here with fresh legs since Dec 29 over this track/distance when off the speed and kept chasing but was held on the line when down the track behind Full Credit. Tick over trial was pretty good and his best is good enough to be a threat.

3 Gummy Gummy (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has had two runs back from a spell and is racing like a rise to the mile will suit. Both runs back from a spell have come over 1200m here, the latest being on Jan 26 when off speed and chased well enough without threatening behind Gorgeous Win. Like him up in trip and can settle closer in the run. Leading chance.

7 Glorious Success (Bet Now:  $SP.00) has done little wrong this time in and takes beating. Latest run came over this track/distance when off speed and while he was never threatening, he kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat when third. Tricky draw but with a drag into the race, he can threaten.

14 Ariel (Bet Now:  $SP.00) will put himself on speed and give his all, as seen two back when an 1800m winner before going to this track/distance when near the speed and fought on really well in defeat. He’ll land near the front and look to give his all. Leading contender.

NEXT BEST: Race Six Number 1 Lucky Torch

LONG SHOT: Race Five Number 4 Bowser
