Sydney jockey Kerrin McEvoy will be tasked with riding the talented but erratic Pakistan Star in the Group One QEII Cup at Sha Tin.
McEvoy has rides in nine of the 10 races at Sunday’s showcase meeting including the former Les Bridge-trained Southern Legend in the Champion’s Mile.
Silvestre De Sousa was originally booked for Pakistan Star but was substituted because of uncertainty over suitable travel arrangements from England to Hong Kong.
Pakistan Star has a record of three wins and five seconds from 14 starts coupled with pulling himself up at a certain point of the track near the 1400m.
Tommy Berry steered Pakistan Star in his latest enforced trial last Friday which he completed without incident.
Berry rides Japanese horse Danburite in the Cup.
