Star English mare Snow Fairy will run in the Sheema Classic later this month instead of the Dubai World Cup.
The multiple Group One winner had the option of both races at Meydan on March 26 but connections have resisted the urge to campaign the four-year-old on an artificial surface for the first time since her juvenile days.
“She worked on Saturday morning with Ryan Moore and we’ve all made the decision to run her in the Sheema,” trainer Ed Dunlop said.
“Putting everything together, we’ve decided to stick to what we know best.
“We know she goes well on fast turf, and we were not totally certain about running her on Tapeta for her first race of the season.
“It is something we’ve all agreed on.”
Snow Fairy enjoyed an astonishing campaign during 2010, winning the English and Irish Oaks before plundering the Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Cup in Japan and then the Hong Kong Cup.
