So You Think to possibly start campaign on April 3

Australian champion So You Think is likely to make his European debut in the Listed Alleged Stakes (1m2f or approximately 2000m) on April 3 at The Curragh.

New trainer Aiden O’Brien told Sky Racing’s Andrew Bensley that it looked a nice starting point for his campaign.

He is likely to race through until October.

O’Brien will be looking to avenge the defeat of his 2009 Irish Derby winner Fame and Glory in the race last year.

Fame and Glory was sent out $1.40 favourite but could only manage third, three lengths away from She’s Our Mark.

It was the starting point for Profound Beauty in 2008 – in the same season, she finished fifth to Viewed in the Melbourne Cup.

The most notable winner in recent years was 2007 victor Dylan Thomas, who in the same season went on to win the Group 1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes (a2400m), the Group 1 Irish Champion Stakes (a2000m) and the Group 1 Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe (a2400m).

There will be similar lofty ambitions for So You Think as he aims for European Group 1 glory in the upcoming months.
