The Sun International Group has announced it is the buyer of the Australian stud operation of Eliza Park.
To be known as Eliza Park International Pty Ltd, the stud will retain the 12 stallions at the farm including Black Caviar’s sire Bel Esprit, while the divisions on each of the six farms in Victoria and Queensland will continue to operate in a similar manner.
Sun Kingdom’s Ting Kong Cheng, said in a statement on Friday he was delighted to have acquired Eliza Park and was very excited about the stud’s future and his company’s involvement in the Australian thoroughbred industry.
“Our investment in Australia will be significant both in terms of stallions and other bloodstock,” he said.
“Importantly, Eliza Park International’s myriad services shall continue and, to that end, the existing management team remains working in tandem with an experienced and professional staff.
“I can assure Eliza Park International’s clientele that we are committed to providing a superior level of professionalism and will soon bring about some initiatives that will benefit supporters both domestically and globally.
A dispersal sale of Eliza Park’s brood mares and weanlings will go ahead at the William Inglis complex in Sydney next week.
