OKEBET Review

Okebet is one of many wagering operators that have gone online in 2022 and if you’re familiar with BetMakers style bookmakers, then you pretty much know what you’re in for with Okebet.

The brains behind Okebet are the Oke boys, with Norm Oke being a bookmaker since 1998. His son Gary has been in the game since 2014 and is one of the bookies who have grown up with the technology and price from a modern day perspective, so you get a good mix of the old and the new with Okebet.

Their website is the traditional three panel format, with the menu on the left, odds in the middle and the betslip on the right. The next to race ticker at the top of the website is good, with the red and white of time left from jump time standing out, so they get a good tick in that regard.

Given their expertise is racing, their markets in that area are strong and stack up quite well with their rivals. They provide markets on both Australian and overseas racing across all three codes, some meetings not covered by the TAB, which is a positive for those who like to have extra betting options and markets.

One thing that they are poor at is their sports markets. First, the sports they cover are on the thin side, though they do cover the main ones of the AFL, NRL and NBA. But, the markets for those sports are poor. An example of this is the NRL Grand Final between the Panthers and Eels. Bookies like TAB and Sportsbet have 150 markets on the game. Compare that with Okebet, they only have three. The majority of other bookies with the BetMakers technology have 25-30 markets for the game so for Okebet to only have three, it says to me they aren’t really interested in sports betting.

They have live vision of racing, coinciding with Sky Racing, so they show some meetings, not all, which is something that they could improve on compared to the likes of Ladbrokes and Bet365, but it’s adequate for a relatively small website.

The big knock, which is a massive concern, is reports that they restrict accounts of punters quite quickly. In this day and age where punters want to be able to get on, the fact they restrict accounts quite quickly is a real turn off and it tells me they are only interested in recreational/losing punters, and if that’s the case, they won’t be lasting online too much longer because those losing punters will self exclude then go elsewhere.

Signing up to the website is good. It doesn’t take long to sign up and verify, and there are a stack of payment options to deposit into your account, something that can be lacking for other websites.

Should I Bet with OKEBET?

Overall OkeBet really does not offer punters anything more than bookies such as NedsLadbrokes or betr who we would definitely recommend punters bet with instead but if you are looking for a new bookie we would recommend swiftbet, Palmerbet or PlayUp.

Online bookmaker Unibet are also offering a $200 matched bet when you sign-up so make sure you check them out.

Should i bet with OKEBET?

OKEBET is one of the leading online bookmakers in Australia and we highly recommend them for all horse racing and sports betting. Their desktop site and mobile app make it simple to place a bet on any race or sporting event. View our full OKEBET review here.

Do OKEBET offer a sign-up bonus?

No. OKEBET do not offer new customers a sign-up bonus. New legislation prevents bookmakers giving new customers incentives but that does not mean you should not bet with OKEBET.
