10/6/2019 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Randwick

Queens Birthday long weekend racing in Sydney this Monday heads to the Kensington track at Randwick for a seven race card. The weather is fine, the track is soft (6) and the rail is out three metres for the entire circuit.

4 Game Of Thorns (Bet Now: $17.00) looks a really talented filly for Kris Lees and confident she can measure up. Debuted over 1280m at Muswellbrook and despite only getting there in the last stride, the win had a stack of merit to it given she was spotting those in front a decent start and to get up and win at start one does bode well, and stable is going super with their juveniles.

1 Chains Of Honour (Bet Now: $3.60) is a beautifully bred gelding who was kept very safe in betting when debuting over the mile at Gosford where he got the A1 run near the speed and when asked by Collett, he booted clear and was far too good. Great sign for a two year old to win at start one at that sort of trip. Looks well above average and making it 2/2 certainly wouldn’t surprise.

8 Bacchus (Bet Now: $5.00) has teased in a few runs for Chris Waller but there is only so many times that can be allowed so he’s getting close to being out of chances. In saying that, he does have A1 form here given he ran fourth to Prince Fawaz just over two weeks ago and was good late. Back to this level does look ideal for this gelding and is looking like a horse wanting this trip.

Pretty keen to see how 6 Lucknow Lady (Bet Now: $3.80) measures up in town. Made her debut for Mark Newnham at Kembla Grange where not much went her way and it was a bit of an ugly watch if you were on when a close up fourth to Speed And Style. She’ll love the step up to 1400m and the stable is getting it spot on lately when it comes to placing their horses to win.

1 Betty Blooms (Bet Now: $3.50) is a well bred filly for Ron Quinton who hasn’t raced in over a month since resuming over 1250m at Canterbury where on face value, she was really poor behind Knowitall Jack, but was found to be 2/5 lame post race, so clearly there were excuses. Been kept on ice since that outing and despite the break between runs, has shown enough to be respected.

5 Exoplanet (Bet Now: $6.00) is a daughter of Snitzel for Chris Waller who was kept relatively safe in betting when resuming in a maiden at Newcastle where I thought she was given every chance and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish the race off when third to the progressive This Is So. Think she’ll take really good improvement from that outing and up to 1400m will suit.

Tricky race so each way, I’d be having something on 5 Leviathan (Bet Now: $8.00), on debut for the Snowden camp. Has trialled up well in readiness for start, with the latest trial seeing him run second to Petronius at Rosehill, with that horse being narrowly beaten yesterday at Hawkesbury, so the form doesn’t read too bad, blinkers look to have sharpened him and will do no work from the draw.

1 Eleven Eleven (Bet Now: $7.00) has been a bit hard to trust for punters since day one but has shown enough talent to suggest a maiden win isn’t far off. Ran over 1100m on Nowra Cup Day when trying to lead all the way and gave a decent enough kick but was bloused on the line. His racing pattern will suit this track and I think 1000m-1100m does look his forte at this stage of his career.

10 Night Flyer (Bet Now: $8.00) is a daughter of All Too Hard who had trialled up for Brad Widdup prior to debuting at Kembla where she was caught wide, but had cover. Peeled out and presented to be a threat but was no match for the impressive finale of Switched. Draws to get a good run just off the speed once again and does get 1.5kg off after the claim for Weatherley.

Despite the weight rise, I think it will take a pretty good effort to beat 2 November Man (Bet Now: $2.25). He’s flying for Anthony Cummings. Outstanding late sectionals here two back when beaten narrowly by Brook Magic. Then raced on the course proper where he was backed off the map and under a lovely steer from Reith, he was far too good. Drops to 70 grade from 78, gee he’ll take some beating.

5 Celer (Bet Now: $4.20) has been a tricky horse to follow and trust, but a consistent stretch of runs without winning all changed last time out at Gosford when chasing off a hot speed to get the job done narrowly but impressively, albeit in a field that had less depth than what he faces here, but stable do have a good record when they bring them to town and I think he’ll run well.

8 The Lion (Bet Now: $10.00) hasn’t really measured up at metro level outside Highway races, but as a whole, this isn’t the strongest city race going around and an improved showing wouldn’t shock at all. Ran over 1200m at Newcastle last time when on speed throughout and tried hard, but just felt the pinch late behind Tycoon Street. Back to 1100m and hopefully with a more conservative ride, he’ll be more effective.

Have always had time for 6 Stella Sea Sun (Bet Now: $3.50) and keen to see her on a big track matro level. Not sure the tight turns of Canterbury suited her but she was still good in defeat when third to Notation. She was 1300m back to 1250m that afternoon, so up to 1400m on the bigger track, there is a bit to like about her, and she did spank them in the win prior to last start.

2 Rockin’ Ruga (Bet Now: $4.00) will be the one to beat if he finds the front and gets a cheap furlong. Just over three weeks between runs since racing at Rosehill when settling just off the speed and trying hard behind impressive winner Something Fast, a race where the form has been franked big time via Asterius. Expect young Scorse to kick up from the gate and lead, and hopefully prove hard to run down.

7 Breakdance (Bet Now: $16.00) is a talented son of Rock ‘N’ Pop resuming for Chris Waller. This bloke hasn’t raced since Feb 22 at Canterbury when racing over 1900m and battling away well in defeat behind Fabricator. Comes here with just one soft 900m trial under the belt but lone career win did come when first up and overall, this isn’t the strongest race on paper.

5 Matowi (Bet Now: $8.00) is flying. Just yet to get a chance to show that this prep in two runs, both at Warwick Farm. First up over 1400m never really had a chance to let down in a hard watch behind Destiny’s Own before racing over the mile where he was absolutely bolting in behind the speed and was there to win, but the gaps just didn’t appear. Normal luck here, keen to see how he’ll go.

10 Plenty (Bet Now: $3.30) a definite for me. Hasn’t raced for a few weeks since sitting on a very hot speed over 1300m at Warwick Farm. Admittedly no turns, but was three wide and the middle part of the race, those in front ran 32.5, so he was entitled to drop away, but kept finding and was very gallant in defeat when second to Bergen, who has run well since. Fresh legs and up to 1550m, he appeals.

6 C’Est Davinchi (Bet Now: $9.50) isn’t far off a win for Team Hawkes. Was good two back behind the in form Kolding before racing at Canterbury once again where he was a tad keen in the run but didn’t stop chasing and was sound in defeat behind Sonaree. He’s a bit of a tease, but at his best is certainly capable of winning here and stable is going really well at the moment.

It was a bit of an ugly watch if you were on 7 Amorita (Bet Now: $6.00) at Rosehill three weeks ago. Just got too far back in the run after jumping okay, with her lack of early speed probably costing her the win in a bunched finish, rattling home late to run a close up sixth. Think if this was 1200m she’d be a moral but with good speed engaged, she’ll be strong late, and if she doesn’t give as much of a start this time around, she’ll be dangerous.

Giving 2 Transmitter (Bet Now: $7.50) another chance. Had trialled up really well for James Cummings prior to resuming over 1100m at Rosehill over three weeks ago where nothing really went right for her in the run, getting stuck wide no cover and she faded out of the finish behind Hostwin Supreme. Not sacking her off that and market late did think she’d need the run, so giving her another look.

13 Magnolia Power (Bet Now: $7.50) is the interesting one. Had let the punters down a couple of times as a short priced elect but the patience was rewarded last time out at Scone. Ridden like she was the best horse in the race and the horse repaid the ride with an absolute spank job of her rivals, most of which were scrubs, so a little query in that regard, but time was good and now her confidence is up, she could go on with it.
