Eight races will be run and won at Morphettville Parks this Saturday. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (13:37) Thomas Farms Handicap (Bm82) 1550m
1 Royal Mile (Bet Now: $2.10) is flying I feel and can take this out. He comes through the Gawler Cup where he was wide throughout, then forced wider on the turn but kept finding the line in a really good effort behind Bamyan Buddha. Track/distance winner, returned super, he takes beating here I say.
3 Jenkins (Bet Now: $2.60) is dangerous back to this level after racing in the Gawler Cup. He just got too far back in the run and was okay late in the piece without threatening behind Bamyan Buddha. He does save his best for the Parks track and back to this level, he’s one of the leading contenders.
6 Marina (Bet Now: $34.00) is a first four threat at odds. He was on speed at Port Lincoln last time and tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through behind Sir Panama but was quite game in defeat. He has run well at the track/distance previously and with his racing style, he’ll give cheek.
Race 2. (14:12) Pfd Food Services (Bm72) 1250m
5 Sav On Ice (Bet Now: $2.40) is a three year old that has an engine under the hood. He won over this trip on Cup Day, letting down with purpose late from off the speed to win well. He was several weeks between runs there so with good upside/improvement to come, he’ll take beating.
4 Royal Majesty (Bet Now: $6.50) takes on the older horses but she looks a nice filly on the up for Chris Bieg. Resumed against her own age a few weeks ago and was impressive I thought in winning after getting a decent enough run in transit, and the form has been franked. Leading contender I say.
2 Pure Aqua (Bet Now: $4.80) is racing like a rise in trip will suit after racing over 1100m two weeks back behind Dreams Fulfilled where she was chasing from the outset and although she made up headway, she was never really a factor. Hard fit now, smaller field, I am not dismissing her.
Race 3. (14:47) Sportsbet Jockey Watch (Bm68) 1250m
There is intent here with 2 Run Like Hell (Bet Now: $7.00) to my eye. Trent Edmonds trains and he was training in QLD so he’s got Noel Callow to come across to ride. This mare was never a factor over 955m at The Valley last time but is suited up to this trip, can press forward and is proven at the track. Happy to be in her corner.
8 Global Turn (Bet Now: $5.00) looks to have returned in good order and is one of the key prospects after resuming on the course proper two weeks ago where she got back in the run but saved ground nearer the inside and kept finding the line in a good effort behind stablemate Beauty Bound. Fitter, up in trip, hard to beat.
5 Dantela (Bet Now: $18.00) is dangerous with her best. This mare resumed at Port Lincoln where she got back to near last in the run and while she was never a winning threat, she did make up headway and wasn’t too bad in defeat. Better set up here I feel, more genuine tempo, and she can launch over the top.
Race 4. (15:22) Sportsbet (Bm66) 1250m
7 Schroder’s Mistake (Bet Now: $3.90) is a Clarken/O’Shea trained gelding that let down like a nice horse to win on debut over 1200m on the course proper here, leading throughout and he was trucking before being clicked up and away he went to win and win well. He’ll press forward again and take running down once again.
3 One Long Day (Bet Now: $5.50) is first up for Melody Cunningham and I say is dangerous here. He had two starts to start his career in the Winter, winning on each occasion and looked impressive. Given a nice break and his trial/jumpout work to get ready for the return has been more than encouraging.
1 Great Maximus (Bet Now: $2.70) is an improver up in trip for Team Jolly after resuming over 1100m a fortnight back on the course proper here. He got off the speed and made up some ground without threatening behind Sir Sway. Track/distance winner, good upside, commands respect.
Race 5. (15:58) Adelaide Galvanising Industries (Bm80) 2250m
2 Arugamama (Bet Now: $2.25) looks ready to win. She tried her guts out three weeks ago over 2500m on the course proper. She looked the winner on the turn but couldn’t quite get past Call Me Vexatious. Back to 2250m and back to a track she loves, she’s the one to beat, and clearly.
3 Yuri Royale (Bet Now: $5.00) saves his best for the Parks track and is flying at the moment without winning. He ran a fortnight back on the course proper when wide throughout and tried hard but couldn’t quite see it through when third to Big Story but was far from disgraced. Better run in transit, he’ll be around the mark.
5 Dual Fuel… (Bet Now: $15.00) is she back on track? She looked cast this prep but I thought she showed signs of life last Saturday over this track/distance where she just got too far back in the run but she found the line well enough in defeat I thought behind Tippa. Not sure she wins but a must for multiples.
Race 6. (16:37) Croser Hcp (C1) 1550m
1 Proven Correct (Bet Now: $4.20) is finding it hard to win but that said, he is racing well. Tried his guts out two weeks ago on the course proper here but just couldn’t quite see it through when third to Lomax. The depth here is nowhere near as deep and he looks ready to win. Gets a great chance here.
10 Gruelling (Bet Now: $5.00) is ready to win. He ran at Gawler on Oaks Day where he looked the winner a long way out but he just couldn’t quite see it through when second to Prancing Countess. Racing well without winning and has to be rated as one of the hardest to beat.
8 Probate (Bet Now: $26.00) goes up in trip after racing over 1200m at Gawler. She got a fair way back and did make up solid headway in an eye catching performance behind Hamslette. The rise in trip, I think, is okay, and as I said, this isn’t a deep race. First four chance.
Race 7. (17:17) Sportsbet Fast Form Hcp (68) 1550m
Back in trip I find very interesting with 7 Chosen Miss (Bet Now: $18.00) but she will be very strong late and gets Callow. Her recent run was at Gawler on Oaks Day where she should have won but just didn’t get the clearest of paths in the straight. Senior rider on, strong late, not a deep race…happy to side with her.
3 Even Sharper (Bet Now: $4.40) doesn’t win out of turn but he is a consistent animal for Andrew Gluyas. He ran over the mile a few weeks back and closed off within purpose from off the speed behind impressive winner Obi. Hard to beat if he can settle closer in the run.
1 Aitch D’Amico (Bet Now: $15.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. He ran two weeks ago on the course proper here when off the speed and found the line well enough without threatening behind Hasseltoff. Good track/distance record, he is a threat with his best.
Race 8. (18:00) Grand Syndicates Hcp (64) 1000m
5 Qeyaady (Bet Now: $9.00) is an interesting runner for Michael Hickmott. He hasn’t raced since September 28 when wide with cover before angling wider and finished strongly, just missing out on the win when third to Jean Valjean. He has a good track/distance record and the stable is humming.
8 Hooked On Wealth (Bet Now: $4.60) will likely spot them a start but he should be quite strong late, which was the case a fortnight back on the course proper here when off the speed and kept chasing, running a strong third to Startide. Think with a more positive ride, he’s going to take beating against these.
4 Oakland Raider (Bet Now: $11.00) will jump on the bunny and take running down. They rode with intent two weeks back on the course proper. He tried hard but just couldn’t quite see it through and felt the pinch late behind Startide. With his racing style, he is suited to this track. Leading contender.
