Race 1. (13:54) SCHWEPPES (BM62+) 1000m

Back Me

5 Lexington City (Bet Now: $7.00) looks a good prospect for Simon Miller and confident she can measure up at this level. Ran over 1000m here just over two weeks ago where she got complete control in front and her change up speed was far superior to anything engaged, bolting up in an impressive effort. If six furlongs is okay, she’s hard to beat.

Danger

3 Hardly Ever (Bet Now: $2.05) is a daughter of Nicconi for Simon Miller that resumes. This girl had a three run Spring prep, which ended on Melbourne Cup Day with a down the track effort in the Burgess Queen after sitting wide no cover. Has trialled up super in readiness for her return and looks to map okay.

Long Shot

Good test here for 7 Sneaky Chance (Bet Now: $4.20) but she’s flying for Trevor Andrews, looking to make it three on the bounce. Both wins have come over 1100m here, the latest being last Wednesday when coming with a well timed run from off the speed to score. Good test here, but think she can measure up.

Race 2. (14:33) TABTOUCH-WESTSPEED PLAT-RS0LY 1500m

Back Me

In form and down in the weights, I like 10 Wunderkind (Bet Now: $8.00). Impressive winner over 1400m here two back before having a mini break and racing over 1200m when off the speed and chased strongly when second to Featherweight in a race where the form was franked last Saturday. Back up in trip, right down in the weights, she only runs well.

Danger

6 Arnie’s Boy (Bet Now: $8.00) doesn’t have the best of winning strike rates but is around the mark more often than not. He resumes for Ashley Maley, having not raced since October 10 at Geraldton when a narrow second to the then in form mare Fashion Queen. Resumes without a trial, but Chris Parnham booked is a good lead.

Long Shot

3 Scooter’s Machine (Bet Now: $7.00) can roll forward and give cheek. Ran over 1200m here a few weeks back when somewhat run off his legs behind State Attorney so want to be forgiving of the run. Like him up in trip, he’ll roll on speed and will give a sight at a likely decent price.

Race 3. (15:18) CROWN PERTH (RS0LY) 1100m

Back Me

4 Cross Statement (Bet Now: $4.00) looks hard to beat. Jim Taylor trained gelding that resumed last Wednesday over 1200m here when leading and he looked to be absolutely trucking on speed but couldn’t quite finish it off when a narrow second to Warm ‘N’ Fuzzy. Like him back to 1100m, will jump on the bunny and prove hard to get past.

Danger

7 Galaxy Cat (Bet Now: $14.00) is a three year old filly for David Harrison that is racing in good form at the moment. Strong on speed winner down the straight at Pinjarra before stepping up to 1200m when opting for a sit and battled away pretty well in defeat when seocnd to My Mate. Like her back to 1100m and is a key threat.

Long Shot

The map looks sticky for 6 Nuhad (Bet Now: $5.50) but if he gets luck, she’ll take beating. Has been kept on ice for Luke Fernie, having not raced since March 9 here when on speed and trying her guts out but couldn’t quite finish it off when a narrow second to Lord Augustus. Draws wide with speed drawn inside, but if she can get across, or get cover, I think she’s one of the hardest to beat.

Race 4. (15:58) SEACORP (RS1MW) 1800m

Back Me

7 Keeper Sweet (Bet Now: $4.00) is a mare that is flying this time in. Last couple of runs have come over the mile here, bolting up two back before sitting wide no cover last time and was enormous in defeat when a close up third to General Grant. Parnham is back on and drawn better, she’ll do me.

Danger

2 General Grant (Bet Now: $11.00) is a tough nut for Stephen Miller that won the race mentioned above. He sat on speed and did work. Was there to be run down but found under pressure and was strong to the line in winning. Off that effort, he does command respect in a similar race.

Long Shot

5 Indominus (Bet Now: $21.00) is suited up in trip. Colin Webster trained gelding that has raced over the mile his past couple, the latest getting back in the run and finishing off okay behind Brother Paddy. Like him up in distance and if he use the inside gate to advantage, he’ll be dangerous.

Race 5. (16:34) ANDRICH COUSINS RACEDAY-BM72+ 1600m

Back Me

4 Lipstick Flickers (Bet Now: $3.50) is the map horse and with gate one, 1600m should be okay. Ran over 1400m three weeks ago here and tried hard, but couldn’t quite finish it off when a close up third to Brooklyn Pier. Significant jockey upgrade IMO and gate one, she’ll get every chance.

Danger

3 Sentimental Queen (Bet Now: $3.40) looks a miler. She is proven over further but she does seem more effective at this trip, winning three weeks ago at this track/distance under a peach from Lucy Warwick. Draws wide, so will need luck, but she is the one with recent winning form.

Long Shot

7 Downforce (Bet Now: $6.00) is a ripper for Neville Parnham that is around the mark more often than not. Ran over 1400m here two weeks back when back in the run and closing off okay behind Comes A Time. Like him back up to the mile and should be quite strong late. Knockout chance.

Race 6. (17:10) BILL PRINS 80TH BIRTHDAY-BM78+ 1000m

Back Me

8 Liwa (Bet Now: $3.30) on top. Quality filly for Simon Miller that resumes, ending the Summer Carnival with a dominant win in the Sir Ernest Lee Steere over 1400m, coming with a well timed run from off the speed. 1000m is on the short side for her, but she has trialled super and will launch late off a good speed.

Danger

6 Acromantula (Bet Now: $3.70) is on the seven day back up after racing over this track/distance last Saturday where he led and copped some pressure, but booted on the turn and looked home but was nabbed late by Express Time. Azzopardi back on and although I doubt he leads, he’s so honest.

Long Shot

5 Chantorque (Bet Now: $7.00) is a big improver back to 1000m. Real eye catcher fresh behind Acromantula before stepping up to 1200m and not quite finishing her race off with purpose Buzzoom. She seems more effective at the mile and off a good speed, she’ll get her chance to launch late.

Race 7. (17:50) HAPPY ANNIV C BURTON (BM66+) 1400m

Back Me

8 Catalpa (Bet Now: $5.50) should be better placed back to 1400m. Looked a good thing on paper when racing over the mile here last start and I thought he had every chance when fourth. I just think the mile found him out so back to 1400m a positive and maps super from the gate.

Danger

2 Brooklyn Pier (Bet Now: $10.00) is the map horse and getting on in years, he seems like he is suited at 1400m. The short body of evidence suggests as much, his last two runs being at this track/distance, winning two back before a game second to the in form Comes A Time. Should get a lovely run in transit from the gate and on speed/fence in run has been no disadvantage at this track in recent weeks.

Long Shot

1 Kia Ora Star (Bet Now: $8.50) is on the seven day back up for Roy Rogers after racing over 1100m here last Saturday when near the front and battled on pretty well in defeat when third. Like him up in trip, he gets a significant jockey upgrade and is a proven performer at this level. He appeals.

Race 8. (18:25) W.A. SIRES' PRODUCE STAKES 1400m

Back Me

4 All The King’s Men (Bet Now: $5.50) on top in what looks a competitive edition of the Sires. He was very good two back behind Left The Building in the Perth Stakes. Could have gone to the Karrakatta but instead went to this track/distance where he found a thin race and gave them a spanking. Has that 1400m run under the belt and has upside to come I feel.

Danger

1 Left The Building (Bet Now: $4.00) has been pretty solid in two runs back from a spell. Resumed with a strong win in the Perth Stakes before going to the Karrakatta Plate where he just lacked changed up but was game in defeat behind a star in Amelia’s Jewel. That form has to read well for this.

Long Shot

6 Sweep The Leg (Bet Now: $9.00) is bred to beat up further and I find it very interesting that CJP rides this horse. I say interesting because I would assume he had the choice of either this or Left The Building but sides with this guy, who debuted over 1100m here when a game second after covering ground. Luck from the gate, he’s around the mark.

Race 9. (19:02) AMELIA PARK (BM66+) 1200m

Think. Is this a bet you really want to place?

Back Me

8 My Mate (Bet Now: $4.50) seems to race best when leading and if that eventuates here, he’s the one they have to beat. Bolted up at this track/distance two back before going to Pinjarra where he led throughout and even allowing for a touch of on speed bias, he was dominant. He can continue his winning ways.

Danger

3 Alien From Mars (Bet Now: $8.00) is a mare that is in career best form. Ran over this track/distance three weeks back where she got back to near last in the run and some Parnham magic coming to the fore late to win and win impressively. If she gets luck again, she’ll be launching late.

Long Shot

10 Don’s Legacy (Bet Now: $61.00) is a son of Patronize for David Harrison that resumes. He hasn’t raced since November 2 over 1100m here when back in the run and failing to come on behind Requisition. Resumes without a trial but draws soft and his best is certainly good enough.
