19/6/2021 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Belmont, Belmont Guineas day

Nine races have been set down for Belmont this Saturday where it is Belmont Guineas Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (5) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

11 Thomas Magnum (Bet Now: $4.50) looks a good mover for the Gangemi camp. Comes here off the back of a trial win here over 1000m when on speed and moved nicely when asked to go and won quite well. Don’t think this is the strongest juvenile race going around and I think he can make a winning debut.

1 Bopping Blue (Bet Now: $2.60) has the race day winning experience under the belt having won at this track/distance two weeks ago, leading throughout and fought on strongly under Pike, who remains on here. Draws wide, but will press forward and give a sight for sure.

Interesting that 3 Beads (Bet Now: $5.50) comes back to 1000m. Both career outings have come at 1200m, the latest coming here when on speed and kicking on, just tiring late, so back to 1000m is a positive, he draws well and should be around the mark in a relatively thin race.

1 I’m Pretty (Bet Now: $2.90) on top but not really a race I want to get involved in. Adam Durrant trained mare that was an impressive winner at this track/distance two weeks ago. Lobbed into a lovely spot behind the speed before edging into clear air and she let down strongly under Pike to win. Not that much harder here, Pike sticks…on top, but a no bet race.

3 Brother Paddy (Bet Now: $5.00) has got upside to come and does arrive here as a last start winner having won at this track/distance just over two weeks ago in a somewhat surprise win given he did SP at $21. You’d think he’s got upside to come and is hard to beat.

5 Megadon (Bet Now: $18.00) is an Ashley Maley trained gelding that resumes. His overall form, especially at Belmont, is ordinary, and he does resume without a trial, but resuming at 1400m fresh tells me there is a bit of intent, so I’d watch the market and see what it does with him.

4 All Day Session (Bet Now: $12.00) should love the rise to 1200m for the Ashley Maley camp. Resumed over 1000m here two weeks ago and worked to the line pretty well late in the piece behind Brooklyn Pier. Should appreciate a rise in trip and interesting that stable finds Pike.

5 Timely Outburst (Bet Now: $2.20) has done little wrong in her career to date. Ran over this track/distance three weeks back when near the speed and gave a good kick when asked. Just failed to finish it off when second to Graceful Girl. Thang form does read quite well for this.

Fitter and up to 1200m I do like for 8 Captain Sharmane (Bet Now: $17.00). Was seven weeks between runs when racing over 1000m here a fortnight ago. She was back near last in the run and while she was never really a winning threat, I liked the way she finished her race off behind Brooklyn Pier. Dangerous if she can sit closer in the run.

1 Agent Jay (Bet Now: $2.90) for me. He’s found positive form and I think he can hold it. Ran over 1200m here last Saturday when on a strong speed and was entitled to knock up but found plenty under pressure. Just missed out on the win when a narrow second to the in form Puli. Back to 1000m no issue, puts himself on speed and will give a great sight.

6 Dunbar (Bet Now: $2.90) is a very interesting runner. Team Williams trained three year old that resumes, having not raced since October 24 when down the track at Ascot behind Em Tee Aye after being well specked at odds. Been given a good long break, has trialled well leading in and Pike rides, so watch the market.

Interesting that 7 Jag The Joker (Bet Now: $13.00) comes back to 1000m. Her last run came just under two weeks ago at Northam over 1300m when on speed under Pike before being clicked up in the straight and she found when required to get the job done. Harder here, but puts herself in a good position and should be strong late.

This looks a winnable race for 9 Treasured Crown (Bet Now: $3.70), who I think has returned in good order. Just looked in need of the run fresh behind Son Son before going to this track/distance where he had little luck in the straight and clearly should have gone close to winning with any luck. If he gets the rub of the green, I think he can win.

1 True Attraction (Bet Now: $5.00) is the class runner and that will carry him a long way here. Lovely ride from young Stanley saw him bolt up at this track/distance last time out, albeit it was an apprentices only race. Gets in well after the claim, can sit closer in the run from the draw and does have class.

3 Gunnago (Bet Now: $17.00) is one I can entertain for wider multiples. On recent form, no chance to the eye, but he has had wide barriers in his recent runs and has been forced to go back to near last, failing to come on. Should sit much closer in the run from the inside gate and his best is good enough.

1200m is not the A1 trip for 3 Friaresque (Bet Now: $17.00), but he’s a very genuine horse who should land in a plum spot from the draw. Hasn’t raced since May 1 when a close up third over 1500m at Ascot after getting back off the speed. If he can use the inside gate to advantage, he’ll be dangerous and strong late.

2 Excellent Dream (Bet Now: $3.30) gets a significant jockey upgrade and can easily bounce back here. Resumed two weeks ago at this track/distance and didn’t get the best of steers by Ramoly. Back and held up, it was a nightmare watch if you were on. Pike takes over now and drawn out, should get clear air from the outset.

10 Miss Frost (Bet Now: $7.50) is certainly capable. Luke Fernie trained mare that resumed without a trial when racing over 1000m here three weeks back. Got caught wide no cover for the trip but fought on pretty well I thought when fifth to Nerodio. If she can get cover from the gate, she has brilliant change up speed to launch late.

3 Amasenus (Bet Now: $2.10) is creeping up in the weights, but she is fast becoming a very reliable horse for Simon Miller. Resumed over 1000m here two weeks ago and produced a brilliant finale from the back to get up and win. She does seem very effective at 1000m but last run last prep did win at 1200m, so the trip isn’t an issue.

4 Special Choice (Bet Now: $7.00) isn’t far off a win I feel. Adam Durrant trained mare that ran over this track/distance two weeks back and worked to the line pretty well without threatening behind a talented filly in Chantorque. Needs luck from the draw, but she is capable if she gets the rub of the green.

Best version of 6 Queen Brown (Bet Now: $8.00) is more than capable. Dan Morton trained filly that is several weeks between runs since racing here where she was back off the pace and didn’t really fire. Question mark as to how well she is going but is right down in the weights and has class when right.

2 Billy Ain’t Silly (Bet Now: $1.90) is a beauty for Colin Webster that will put himself on speed and give his all. Attempted to lead throughout in the Raconteur and gave a really good kick. Just in match late for Graceful Girl. Like him back up in trip and he will give an almighty sight.

9 Chilli Is Hot (Bet Now: $23.00) will appreciate a truly run mile. She ran over this track/distance two weeks ago where she was back off a slow speed and worked to the line pretty well when third. She will enjoy a fast run mile and if indeed that does eventuate, she will be strong late.

1 Dark Assault (Bet Now: $12.00) has a touch of class and that will carry him a long way despite a query on how well he is going at the moment but a big, big tick for him is that Pike is found to steer. His best is good enough. Just not sure where he gets to in the run from the tricky draw.

Tricky race but landed with 3 Serenity Bay (Bet Now: $7.00) for Team Williams. Resumed over 1200m here two weeks ago, a trip clearly short of her best, but liked the way she finished her race off when fourth to Chantorque in a pleasing return. Has a horror draw to overcome, but has quality and Parnham sticks.

7 Comfort Me (Bet Now: $3.50) has returned in really good order for the Radford camp. Big win here a fortnight back. Was wide no cover for the trip but he kept finding under pressure, fended them off and was too good. If that run hasn’t busted him, he’ll take beating against this lot.

5 Lordhelpmerun (Bet Now: $35.00) comes back to 1400m and can be dangerous at a price. Ran over the mile here last Saturday and didn’t really fire after getting a suck run in behind. He is a horse who loves racing on a dry deck and the sunny forecast can see him bounce back.

LONG SHOT: Race Six Number 3 Friaresque
