19/9/2020 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Gold Coast, Pink Ribbon Cup day

Nine races will be run and won at the Gold Coast this Friday where it is Pink Ribbon Cup Day. The weather is fine, the track is soft (6) and the rail is out half a metre from the 1400m-400m; True for the remainder.

Little query at 1200m re 4 Aventurine (Bet Now: $2.75) but she looks the most progressive. Tony Gollan trained filly that was beaten as an odds pop on debut at Doomben before coming back to 900m here for a kill and she got it, spanking her rivals. Little query on her at 1200m, but against her own age/sex certainly helps.

1 Mishani Miss (Bet Now: $2.45) is a beauty for Les Ross who will put herself on speed and give her all, which is what she did two weeks ago at Doomben, showing really good sustained speed from the front and was much too good. Start prior at 1200m, she bumped into a smart one in Kisukano, so that form reads very well for this.

2 Miss Lot Won (Bet Now: $17.00) is a knockout chance at odds. Tom Button trained filly that is two weeks between runs since racing over 1050m at Doomben when a game fourth to Mishani Miss after getting back in the run nearer the inside. Like her up to 1200m and is a proven Saturday class performer so one to include in multiples.

10 Express Fantasy (Bet Now: $2.20) is a progressive mare for the David Vandyke team that I think will be suited up to 1400m on the bigger track. Ran over 1350m at Doomben when looking to make it 3/3 this prep but wanted to lay out under pressure and I think threw the race away when a narrow second to Superbowl Sunday. Going well and should take some beating provided she does everything right.

Think 1400m will suit 1 Metamorphic (Bet Now: $9.00). He hasn’t threatened to win in three runs this time in, but he has raced pretty well despite that. Ran over 1350m two weeks ago at Doomben and found the line okay late behind Maddi Rocks. Up to 1400m I do like and hopefully can sit that little bit closer in the run.

Not sure 2 Don’t Stop (Bet Now: $8.00) wins but could certainly include in multiples. Ran over 1350m at Doomben a fortnight back when near the speed throughout and tried hard, giving a good kick, but was pipped late by Maddi Rocks. That form does read well for a race like this. Can she stretch her brilliance to 1400m at Saturday level?

Hardest test to date for 6 Run For Glory (Bet Now: $1.55) but I think he can win again. Tony Gollan trained gelding who is looking for five on end, the latest coming two weeks ago over 1350m at Doomben and he is a line chaser for sure. Just love the way he finishes his race off and despite the good depth here, think he can win again.

2 Aqua Vite (Bet Now: $9.00) loves racing on his home track and has the class on his side. Four weeks between runs since leading throughout and scoring a strong win over the mile at Doomben. Back in trip with fresh legs is interesting, but should land near the front, loves racing at the Gold Coast and any rain won’t hurt.

5 Tarbert (Bet Now: $6.50) is getting on in years, but he is going well I feel. Ran second to Run For Glory in the race at Doomben from two weeks ago when on speed and he tried hard, but was no match late for an in form galloper. Not sure he turns the tables, but is racing and at his best, he is certainly capable of figuring.

5 Shooting For Gold (Bet Now: $2.20) looks one of the better bets on the card. Think Steve O’Dea has a pretty smart one on his hands here. Bolted up to win the maiden over 1110m at Doomben before coming back in trip at that track next time out and he savaged the line, just missing out on picking up Mishani Miss. Up to 1200m, back to just the boys, he really appeals.

Keen to see how 7 Mass Destruction (Bet Now: $7.00) goes. Tony Gollan trained three year old that returned as a gelding in a Sunny Coast maiden when back near last in the run before angling into clear air and launching late to get up and score a super win. Harder here, but he showed in the first prep he is up to this level.

Keep waiting for the rain to arrive, but if it does, 1 Mishani Fraudster (Bet Now: $6.00) comes right into play because he is an absolute swimmer, and with the claim, he could really tighten in if the rain comes. Far from disgraced three weeks ago at Eagle Farm behind Kisukano and that clearly looks the A1 form for this race.

Safe option looks to be 3 Fastnet Cyclone (Bet Now: $4.40) for the Stuart Kendrick team. This bloke is hard fit and flying at the moment. Close up third at Eagle Farm three weeks ago before racing there last Wednesday and he absolutely bolted up under a confident steer from Lord Gododdin. Handles wet ground, hard fit, in form…likeable.

5 Joymaker (Bet Now: $4.00) is creeping up in the weights but she is absolutely flying this time in for Kelly Schweida. Has won two on the bounce, the latest coming three weeks ago at Eagle Farm when ridden a patient race by Jim Byrne and in survival of the fittest, she was strongest to the line. Hard to knock the way she’s going.

8 Lord Gododdin (Bet Now: $13.00) is around a year between wins but Chris Waller has him going well and don’t think a win is far off. Ran last Wednesday at Eagle Farm and tried very hard, but clearly no match for Fastnet Cyclone and had to settle for second. Could I back him to win here? Probably not, but concede he’s racing well.

Good test here for 11 The Move (Bet Now: $1.80) but he looks the most progressive of this lot. Resumed over 1100m at Ipswich in what looked a thin race, he was Winx like odds and duly saluted, bolting up by six. Just needs to stretch his brilliance to 1200m on potentially testing ground. If he can do that, think he’s good for this lot.

Les Kelly runners should always be respected when racing on their home track at the Gold Coast, especially when it is for decent coin, so respecting 6 Beaufort Park (Bet Now: $6.50), who gave them a spanking when winning here three weeks ago under Wolfgram, who remains on. Has gate one and should do no work.

The rise to 1200m is a big tick for the Team Edmonds runner 2 Dream Master (Bet Now: $11.00). Both runs back from a spell have come over 1000m, the latest at the Sunny Coast when wide no cover throughout and battled away pretty well in defeat, finishing third. Not sure about him on wet ground, but is a proven Saturday performer.

13 Kisukano (Bet Now: $1.55) looks the likely winner, but do I want to take $1.60? No way. Backed as if she was Winx when racing at Eagle Farm three weeks and duly saluted, scorching the turf in a very fast time, which was the norm for the meeting. Lone time she raced at the Gold Coast, she beat Rothfire, and is the only horse to beat that star. Should win, but happy to watch at the price. If she got to $2+, then I could be entertained.

Hard to ignore 10 She Za Boss (Bet Now: $7.00). Was it She Za Boss or Winx a few weeks ago at Eagle Farm? She was absolutely bolting in the run and it was just a matter of pushing the button and once Fradd did, away she went. If she produces that here, even allowing for taking on stronger opposition, she can win again.

9 Amicitia (Bet Now: $26.00) has been up a fair while but continues to race really well for Tony Gollan. Comes through the Aqua Vite race from a few weeks ago at Doomben and on first look, she was just fair, but it was an on speed dominated race, she made a strong move between the 800-400 and I reckon that told late. More conservative steer, closer in the run potentially, hard to beat.

Think class/brilliance gets 3 Zoustyle (Bet Now: $1.55) home. Hasn’t raced since the Maurice McCarten at Rosehill during the Autumn where 250m out, he looked all over a winner, but fell in a hole and punctured badly late. Was found to have bled, so has been given a good break and the trial to get ready looked impressive.

5 Usmanov (Bet Now: $3.40) has a fab track/distance record and should command respect. Team Edmonds trains this gelding, who last raced in the Hinkler during the Brisbane Carnival when a close up fourth to Scallopini. Just one soft trial to get ready, but is 3/4 at the Gold Coast 900m and the forecast for rain will help his claims.

4 Spurcraft (Bet Now: $8.00) is a real short course specialist and is a key threat. He hasn’t raced since June 20 at Doomben on testing ground when on speed and tiring late behind Jadentom. He is a dry tracker I feel, so the forecast for rain isn’t ideal, but 900m is the perfect kick off point for this horse and he does have quality when right.

Bit of a throw at the stumps here in the get out via 11 Toan Thang (Bet Now: $27.00). Thought he was really good first up behind the in form Run For Glory, then last time out, visually he was plain behind Cloak, but that horse controlled things in front and nothing from behind was going to beat him. Great third up record, up to 1800m in a thin race, I think he’s worth an each way ticket at the price.

14 Prospectus (Bet Now: $2.90) has done little wrong this time in for the Chris Waller team. Ran a fortnight back at Doomben and was working to the line strongly. Just found one better in Getyourgreyon, who got control in front and was too good. He’s racing as if 1800m will suit and he does find a very winnable race against this lot.

Been a while since 1 Happy Go Plucky (Bet Now: $11.00) has raced in an event as weak as this given he has contested open handicap races his past three, and while he hasn’t featured, he has been far from disgraced. Gets in really well after the claim and looks good odds in a very wide race, so I rate him a knockout chance.

NEXT BEST: Race Two Number 10 Express Fantasy

LONG SHOT: Race Nine Number 11 Toan Thang
