15 Iconic Dame (Bet Now: $8.00 TOP ODDS) was scratched from a much weaker race at the Sapphire Coast on Friday to run here, where she has gained a start after scratchings. Resumed at the Sapphire Coast when an impressive winner from off the speed and last run last prep, she was far from disgraced behind Shelby Sixtysix, which clearly reads well for this.

Danger

1 Blow Dart (Bet Now: $4.20 TOP ODDS) hasn’t won in a little while I do think back to 1100m is a big tick for him. Game third two back behind Proverbial before going to 1200m and he tried his guts out. but six furlongs just sees him out. Back to 1100m with his on speed pattern, he’s hard to beat here.

Long Shot

13 King’s Trust (Bet Now: $9.50 TOP ODDS) is a Highway veteran, but he looks to have returned in pretty good order. Just got a bit too far back in the run behind Proverbial a few weeks back in a Highway here but was good in closing off. 1100m, I’d say this is a prep run, but he’s a must for multiples.

Race 2. (11:35) Ned Australian Whisky (Bm72) 1300m

1 Dehorned Unicorn (Bet Now: $3.40 TOP ODDS) is on the seven day back up for Joe Pride after racing at Randwick last Saturday where he was on speed throughout and tried hard but couldn’t quite finish it off but close up behind Rebel Shadow. Seven day back up, Blinkers first time…it’s a Joe Pride set up.

Danger

4 Sungblue (Bet Now: $3.20 TOP ODDS) is a progressive three year old for Cav that I think can measure up her. Dominant win over 1400m at Randwick several weeks ago, seemingly lapping up the mud and making a mess of them. Has shown before he’s effective on top of the ground and this track won’t be as bad as it has been in recent times.

Long Shot

6 Deep Romance (Bet Now: $6.00 TOP ODDS) deserves another chance. She was a bit on the plain side last time at Warwick Farm when near the speed throughout and felt the pinch late behind Huesca, which followed strong market support. Good on the Kenso the start prior, so she gets another look.

Race 3. (12:10) Midway (Bm72) 1200m

10 Daralina Belle (Bet Now: $3.70 TOP ODDS) looks a relatively safe option for Matty Smith. Close up third two back at Caulfield behind Selburose before going to Warwick Farm when working to the line strongly when third to Dehorned Unicorn. Likes getting her feet wet and this isn’t a strong Midway.

Danger

13 Air Of Alsace (Bet Now: $12.00 TOP ODDS) is a Jason Coyle trained mare that resumes. This mare did a really good job during the Summer, where she won a couple of races in good style, notably both wins on wet ground. Couple of trials to get ready, with good form around her, watch the market.

Long Shot

12 Air To Air (Bet Now: $13.00 TOP ODDS) is such a fascinating runner. Formerly with Jason Coyle, she now finds herself with Sam Kavanagh and he’s becoming a trustworthy trainer at getting a tried horse to find winning form. Her racing style and record isn’t flash. but new trainer, starting again, her trials leading in have been quite sharp, so she’s a huge yard/market watch.

Race 4. (12:45) Fujitsu General (Bm78) 2400m

4 Oceanic Flash (Bet Now: $6.00 TOP ODDS) is a horse I am not sacking just yet. He ran two weeks back here where he was back and wide, never really a factor when down the track, but given the race shape, his run was a definite pass mark behind Born A King. Is a city winner at the trip and is crying out for it.

Danger

5 Black Queen (Bet Now: $3.00 TOP ODDS) looks ready to win to my eye. Chris Waller trained mare that ran over 2000m here two weeks ago and I thought she was very good against the pattern behind Born A King, who was blessed with the pattern. She has upside and a strong 2400m record…the negative is K McEvoy, who can barely win a trial at the moment.

Long Shot

3 Dick Whittington (Bet Now: $9.00 TOP ODDS) is a working progress and suited up in trip. He comes through the Born A King race from a fortnight back and did make up good ground from the back, but was on the inside, which was the spot to be, so flattered somewhat? Not sure, but the run prior at Flemington was solid and he looks as if he’ll eat up 2400m.

Race 5. (13:20) Bisley Workwear (Bm72) 1100m

5 Shades Of Rose (Bet Now: $2.30) on top. Bjorn Baker trained filly that resumes, having not raced since the Summer when producing a 3/3 prpe to start her career. Trials leading in have been quite strong, she has gate one with T Clark, and at the Rosehill 1100m, I am hoping for an all the way triumph.

Danger

8 Petulant (Bet Now: $4.20) is a filly with talent for Team Hawkes and commands respect here. She has had two runs back from a spell, finishing runner up each time, first up at Warwick Farm to Curtis Island before racing here behind all the way winner Rubinocchi. Hard fit, I think this is D-Day for her.

Long Shot

2 Hardware Lane (Bet Now: $8.00) comes back to town and I think with the rain forecast for later this week, he’ll come right into play here beacuse it’s clear that he is a horse who loves to get his toe in. Lumped 61.5kg to bolt up at Albury on heavy ground last time, but I will say the win was a touch flattering given the inside was worth a fair bit. That said, he was still dominant and is hard fit, in form with an on speed racing style.

Race 6. (13:55) Ranvet (Bm72) 1500m

8 Kanazawa (Bet Now: $4.00) is flying for James Cummings. He should have won three weeks ago at Randwick. Unfortunately he had to get snagged back from the wide gate but loved the way he closed off. If he can sit closer in the run and be within range, I think he’ll take a power of beating.

Danger

2 Lease (Bet Now: $4.80) is hard fit now and gets to a more suitable trip. Close up third to Moon Reader first up at Randwick before going to Rosehill when near the speed and fought on pretty well in defeat behind Titanium Power. Like him back to this sort of race and up in trip, expecting improvement.

Long Shot

D-Day for 7 And We Danced (Bet Now: $5.00). Looked all over a winner last time out at Randwick but she couldn’t quite get there and if you were on her, you would have been filthy with her plain finale when third. Hopefully she won’t be far away and punting hat off, she’s come back really well.

Race 7. (14:35) Rosehill Bowling Club (Bm78) 1400m

Hard fit and up to 1400m, it all points to 4 Per Inaway (Bet Now: $3.50) running well to my eye. Kris Lees trained former Kiwi that was an impressive winner over 1200m here first up before stepping up to 1300m where she found firmer footing and a biased track, so the run was better than what it reads. Gets her toe back in and up to 1400m, I am in her corner.

Danger

1 Nicci’s Fling (Bet Now: $6.00) is a Gary Portelli trained mare that is a must for multiples. Ran in the Bella Rouge race from two weeks back where she presented wide in the straight and that just wasn’t the spot to be. Actually did a good job to run third to Bella Rouge. A win wouldn’t totally shock.

Long Shot

5 Soffika (Bet Now: $13.00) is one to watch. Former English mare that makes her Australian debut for Team Freedman. Her form from over there was just a tad on the plain side but you do have to respect these imports, and I thought her trials leading in have been encouraging.

Race 8. (15:15) Fab Industrial Logistics-Bm78 1800m

14 Naval Seal (Bet Now: $2.60) looks the one with the upside/progression. Chris Waller trained three year old that had the pattern in his corner two weeks ago but even allowing for that, he was quite dominant under Pike. Loses nothing IMO with Tyler Schiller and his claim, especially if we get a wet track. I love horses below the minimum on wet ground.

Danger

11 Oz Legend (Bet Now: $21.00) is a threat for sure I feel. He resumed on a testing track at Sandown and while he was never a winning factor, I didn’t mind the way he finished his race off behind Chief Altony, who should have won last Saturday at Caulfield, so the form reads well, love him up in trip and has good upside.

Long Shot

Back on top of the ground and up in trip, I am going to include 4 Strawberry Rock (Bet Now: $26.00) at a big price. Former UK stayer that had trialled up okay prior to his Australian debut over 1500m here where he didn’t get much luck from the wide gate and couldn’t get into the race. 2400m is when he came into his own back home, so he might want one more, but Maher/Eustace polish, firmer footing, upside…can see him running a beauty at odds.

Race 9. (15:50) Vale Nick Moraitis (Bm88) 1500m

16 Wicklow (Bet Now: $2.90) is a horse with good talent for Chris Waller. Both runs this time in have come over 1500m here, first up not getting much luck behind Mach Schnell before producing the win of the meeting a fortnight back. He’s got good upside to come and will be strong late.

Danger

1 Lackeen (Bet Now: $6.00) has returned well. Resumed in the Coal Crusher race from three weeks back at Randwick. Just lost sight of the bunny when the sprint went on but was good late when fourth. I reckon he might want one more, but a truly run 1500m is in his wheelhouse and he’ll be strong late. Definite winning chance.

Long Shot

8 New Arrangement (Bet Now: $17.00) is suited up to 1500m. Three weeks between runs since racing over 1400m at Randwick where he got to last in the run and while he was never a winning factor, his finale was more than sound I thought behind Coal Crusher. I think an extra 100m helps and dangerous if he can settle closer in the run.

Race 10. (16:30) Schweppes (Bm78) 1300m

Back Me

7 Tamerlane (Bet Now: $3.80) on top in a tricky get out. He’s three weeks between runs since resuming at Randwick where he was good late from off the speed behind dominant winner Waihaha Falls, who I thought was a good thing here prior to being scratched. Maps ideally, handles wet ground and is hard to hold out I’d suggest.

Danger

1 Titanium Power (Bet Now: $3.90) has to lump a fair amount of weight but he’s a handy galloper for Joe Pride that will be hard to beat from the front, as seen two weeks ago here with the pattern in his corner, he was able to take advantage. Key rivals are drawn tricky, so I think Hutchings will look to take advantage.

Long Shot

3 Silent Agenda (Bet Now: $17.00) looks to be in for a good prep. Resumed over 1300m here two weeks back and albeit he was blessed in run, he worked to the line very well when second to Titanium Power. Gets better as the prep goes on but like him at this level and the return was encouraging.
