Belmont will conduct a nine race card on Saturday for Tabtouch Stakes Day. The weather is fine, the track is good (4) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

4 Hezangelic (Bet Now: $3.00) for me. Team Pearce trained gelding that resumed at this track/distance at the midweeks when on speed and tried hard but first up, the market said he’d need the run and that’s how it panned out behind Oregon Hiker, feeling the pinch late. Fitter, and I think with a more patient steer, he’s effective.

2 Oregon Hiker (Bet Now: $2.80) won at this track/distance last time, leading throughout and credit to him, he was there to be beaten but he found under pressure to fend them off and win. Good racing style, in form, and overall, this isn’t a deep race, so he commands respect.

5 Norich (Bet Now: $7.50) is a Karen Kersley trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since May 4 at Ascot when on speed and tried hard, just feeling the pinch late behind Treasured Queen. Resumes without a trial but his best is good enough to be dangerous.

1 Sir Dreamalot (Bet Now: $2.60) has class on his side and I’ll bank on that getting him home. He resumes, having not raced since the Karrakatta where he got back in the run and was never a winning threat but his late splits in defeat were pretty good behind Bustling. 1000m on the short side but has class and will be strong late.

2 Keep Ita Mystery (Bet Now: $4.00) is racing well for Luke Fernie and commands respect. Strong winner two back before going to 1200m four weeks ago and tried hard but had to settle for a second to Mean Machine. Like him back to 1000m and is one of the leading contenders.

3 London’s Image (Bet Now: $14.00) is a Ryan Hill trained filly that resumes. She is first up, having not raced since May 25 here when down the track and I thought a touch disappointing. Given a break and her recent trial was encouraging so I say watch the market and see what it does with her.

4 Sinful Living (Bet Now: $1.90) seems the straight bat play for mine. Team Pearce trained filly that won here last Wednesday, leading throughout over this trip and gave nothing else a look in to win quite well. Short course specialist that is in form, will land on speed…hard to beat I say.

2 Under Influence (Bet Now: $5.00) is a key threat for mine. He has run over this track/distance his past two, the latest being two weeks ago where he had his chance from off the speed but I think he bumped into a smart one, Bravo Centurion. Racing well, lands near the front, a definite winning chance.

5 Wednesday (Bet Now: $34.00) has a good track/distance record and comes here with fresh legs so she creates interest. Last run was July 27 when down the track here behind Russian Sniper. I think watch the market and see what it does with her.

4 Lord Gannicus (Bet Now: $5.00) looks to have returned in pretty good order and should eat up a rise to 1400m after resuming over 1000m here two weeks back where he was near the speed and chasing, but kept on and was pretty good in defeat behind Bravo Centurion. Fitter and up in trip, good upside, he’s hard to beat.

5 Wango Award (Bet Now: $7.50) is a Team Williams trained gelding that comes here four weeks between runs since a track/distance win where he got complete control in front and that allowed him to give a very strong kick when it counted, fighting back to win. Good track/distance record, good racing style, he appeals for sure as a threat.

1 Son Of A God (Bet Now: $61.00) is an interesting runner for David Harrison. He ran last Saturday in the Nicopolis where he was crowded at the start but that said, he was a bit on the plain side behind Man Crush. I think the rise to 1400m will be fine and the depth here is nowhere near as strong as last week.

4 Vast Art (Bet Now: $2.30) looks one of the better bets on the card for mine. He comes through the Farnley from two weeks ago and he was one of the runs of the meeting, closing off with real purpose off a moderate speed behind Saloon Bar. Can settle closer, love him up to the mile…I think good luck beating him.

6 Crescent City (Bet Now: $5.50) is three weeks between runs for Team Williams since contesting the Blue Spec over this track/distance where he raced in inferior going but that said, he didn’t quite set the world on fire in defeat behind Triple Jay. I think fresh legs and firmer footing, he can bounce back.

3 Kaptain Kaos (Bet Now: $11.00) is sneaky racing well I feel. On paper, just a run in the Farnley behind Saloon Bar but the race shape was against him, he was keen in the run yet still made up good headway I thought. Doubt he wins but I reckon he can run top four.

2 Hemlock Stone (Bet Now: $2.50) looks really hard to beat here for Team Williams. He was super in defeat last Saturday here against the pattern, working home with real purpose out wide when third to Stop Dreaming. If the track is on the fairer side this time around, I think good luck beating him.

6 Red Dwarf (Bet Now: $9.00) is a key threat. Pike rode him with intent two weeks ago, attempting to lead throughout, and he did give a nice kick but just couldn’t quite see it through behind Queen Of Jerusalem. I think with a more patient steer, he’ll be more effective.

5 Mr Talentino (Bet Now: $13.00) is an honest campaigner that should be around the mark. He tried to make a sustained run last start here in search of the best ground and he tried hard but couldn’t finish it off. Not sure he wins, but can see him running top four.

5 Chantel (Bet Now: $6.50) is a mare that is flying at present and for mine, has to be rated as the one to beat. She has won two on the bounce, firstly over the mile at Northam before going to 1700m here last Wednesday when on speed throughout and was trucking before being clicked up and she gapped them late. Flying and has earned a crack at Saturday level.

2 Grand Reserve (Bet Now: $5.50) has been strong in two runs this time in and rates highly for mine. He resumed with a win over 1300m here before going to 1700m where he tried hard but just couldn’t quite finish the race off. Hard fit and slightly back in trip, he is a key winning chance.

4 Soldanelle (Bet Now: $8.00) is four weeks between runs since resuming over 1300m here where she got back in a slowly run race but was still solid enough in defeat I thought behind No Brainer. Fitter and up in trip, firmer deck, she’s an improver at odds.

8 Simply (Bet Now: $2.60) has returned in super order for Team Williams and does look the one to beat. Gave them a start and a beating to win fresh at Pinjarra before going here two weeks ago at this trip where he again got back but worked home with real purpose late in the piece behind In Good Order. Third up, hard fit, he’ll take beating if he gets a drag into the race.

2 In Good Order (Bet Now: $2.70) is well named because he has returned in a similar way to his name. Good late when placing over 1300m here fresh before going to the mile where he got into a decent spot off the speed before coming with a well timed run and getting the win. Leading contender.

5 Ace Command (Bet Now: $41.00) is capable of a forward showing with his best. He hasn’t quite set the world on fire in two runs back from a spell, but I will say he has contested races far stronger than what he faces here, the latest behind Category Three three weeks back. Third up and hard fit, he’s an improver at odds.

2 Leading Taddy (Bet Now: $12.00) is very dangerous if we get a firm track like we did last Saturday. He has been plagued by wet tracks this time in and just hasn’t been effective so on a dry deck, with a kind map, I think he will take beating at a likely decent price.

9 Mean Machine (Bet Now: $3.70) takes on the older horses but he is a three year old with some promise. Ran over 1400m here a fortnight back where he seemingly had his chance but that said, I thought he didn’t disgrace himself in defeat behind Arcadia Park. Back in trip is fine and strikes a winnable race.

8 He’sgotwings (Bet Now: $26.00) is one I can entertain at odds. He resumed over 1300m at Northam where the market said perhaps not today and he ran accordingly, getting back and failing to get involved behind The Great Hoya. Good track/distance record, so I am not dismissing him.
