Race One (12:40) : Anzac Day Handicap 1400m:
Back Me: 1 Via Napoli (Best Odds: $2.70) debuted at Wyong a couple of weeks back and closed off strongly to run a close up second to I Am Magnificent. Should take good improvement here and he will eat up the 1400m on the bigger track. Looks the one to beat.
Big Danger: 4 Flaunting (Best Odds: $5.50) is a stablemate of Via Napoli who resumed in that same race mentioned above and closed off nicely late in the piece when running fourth. Schofield rides, draws well, fitter and should take some beating.
Roughie: 3 Princess Vein (Best Odds: $8.50) is a consistent type for Anthony Cummings who comes here off a last start second at Beaumont-Newcastle, albeit in an easier race than this, but she is trained on the track and will prove tough to hold out late.

Race Two (13:15) : 1st Light Horse Plate 1400m:
Back Me: 6 Peacock (Best Odds: $2.10) trialled well prior to resuming at Warwick Farm where he was luckless in running second to Taj Mahal given he was held for the first half of the straight and couldn’t really build up momentum. McDonald jumps on now and should prove hard to hold out.
Big Danger: 2 Argentina (Best Odds: $2.70) ran in that Taj Mahal race and closed off alright late in the piece when running fourth to his stablemate. Draws to get every chance from the inside gate and 1400m is ideal.
Roughie: 5 Earth (Best Odds: $5.50) was ridden too aggressively I feel first up at Warwick Farm and just felt the pinch late when fifth to Radcliffe. I think she will be better ridden with a sit, and if that eventuates, she is a leading contender.

Race Three (13:50) : HMAS Australia (1) Handicap 1400m:
Back Me: 2 Red Knot (Best Odds: $3.30) on top for me in a very thin race. He resumed over 1200m at Wyong where he sat on speed and toughed it out strongly when third to I Am Magnificent, a race where I think the form will hold up in the first event. Draws to lead, fitter, home track and McDonald aboard.
Big Danger: 5 Sea Sharp (Best Odds: $4.60) resumed at Hawkebury and looked a little unlucky I thought when running fourth to a potential Stakes class filly in Crystal Flute, getting held up a touch near the line when running on strongly. Bigger track and small field is ideal and just has upside.
Roughie: 6 Texas Rebel (Best Odds: $6.50) ran at Beaumont-Newcastle a couple of weeks back and his effort was pretty good I thought given he had to make a long searching run from the back in a slowly run race and was only two lengths off the winner. Wolfgram retains the ride and he draws much better.

Race Four (14:25) : First Battle Of The Somme Handicap (72) 1200m:
Back Me: 5 Seeking Asylum (Best Odds: $5.50) is a handy filly who resumes for Gary Portelli. This filly had three runs in the Spring, which ended with a sixth to My Popette on Cox Plate Day at the Valley. She is a live chance if the track is dry, but any rain and she is the clear one to beat.
Big Danger: 2 Song And Laughter (Best Odds: $5.00) is a handy galloper that was formerly with Kevin Moses but is now with Jim Litt. She runs well at Randwick, can sprint well fresh and her trials leading in have been quite encouraging.
Roughie: 10 Celtic Kiss (Best Odds: $26.00) is a handy mare that resumes for Gabbie Englebrecht. Hasn’t won in four first up attempts and comes here with no trials, but she only carries 52kg, maps well and this is a very thin race.

Race Five (15:05) : Australian Flying Corps Handicap (66) 1800m:
Back Me: 9 Princess Aria (Best Odds: $8.50) broke her maiden status in impressive fashion last Saturday at Kembla Grange, sweeping home from off the speed to win quite convincingly. Harder here, but there is a bit to like about her and she will be strong at the end of it.
Big Danger: 1 Rodrico (Best Odds: $3.70) broke his maiden status in good style a tick under three weeks back at Warwick Farm over the mile, aided by a lovely ride from Tye Angland who remains on. 61kg and up to 1800m isn’t easy, but he is in the right yard.
Roughie: 3 Power Of Patch (Best Odds: $6.50) has been given a 25 day freshen up since winning at Hawkesbury over 1600m after sitting on speed and kicking on strongly when challenged. Bred to eat up a trip, trained on the track and only has to overcome the wide gate to be a threat.

Race Six (15:40) : Tommy Hill Memorial Handicap 2000m:
Back Me: 1 Hawkspur (Best Odds: $8.00) looks tremendous overs at $8. He closed off strongly first up in the Doncaster Prelude (1500m) before running on alright in the worst ground behind Guardini in the JRA Plate (2000m). This is the easiest race he has contested since his three year old days, and despite the topweight, gee I think he is a great chance.
Big Danger: 11 Lady Le Fay (Best Odds: $2.35) is a talented mare who is a stablemate of Hawkspur who comes here off a closing fourth to Azkadellia in the Queen Of The Turf. Untried at the trip, yet to win in Australia, takes on the boys…why she is $2.35 I do not know, but she is a leading chance.
Roughie: 10 Reigning (Best Odds: $13.00) has been given a 37 day freshen up since resuming over the mile at Doomben where he didn’t get much luck behind Oak ‘N’ Arthur. Made up ground in a recent trial, he has enormous upside and he is a great value chance.

Race Seven (16:20) : 3rd Australian General Hospital Nurses Handicap (72) 1000m:
Back Me: 10 Supply And Demand (Best Odds: $4.20) resumes here for Gai. This gelding ended his first prep with a maiden win at Kembla Grange. Bolted up in a recent trial here and looks definitely wound up to win fresh.
Big Danger: 4 Beau Tirage (Best Odds: $5.50) ran in the feature sprint race on Albury Cup Day and was enormous in defeat behind Corsica Lad given he was five wide no cover. Three year old taking on some good ones here, which isn’t easy, but the claim helps and he is lethal when freshened.
Roughie: 9 Louisiana (Best Odds: $17.00) Rouge is the interesting runner. This mare had two runs last time in, resulting in a win at Scone before finishing down the track at Warwick Farm. Has trialled twice leading in and has looked good on each occasion. Was due to resume at Scone a couple of weeks back but was scratched at the barriers after being supported at odds.

Race Eight (16:55) : The Last Post Handicap (72) 1400m:
Back Me: 3 Alfred The Great (Best Odds: $6.00) was well backed last time out at Beaumont-Newcastle and the bets were landed when the James Cummings trained galloper got the job done narrowly but impressively. Is he ready for the city? Perhaps not, but this isn’t a strong race and the stable is flying.
Big Danger: 1 Liberty Island (Best Odds: $8.00) drops back to 1400m after running over the mile at Warwick Farm last time out and just didn’t fire a shot behind Duca Valentinois. He is better than that, drops big time in depth and should be strong late.
Roughie: 10 Kiseki Dane (Best Odds: $15.00) is a handy stayer for Mick Dwyer who resumed at Scone and worked home powerfully late to run third to I’m Usain. Second up form doesn’t read great, but he is a city winner who will be very strong at the end of a tough 1400m at Randwick.
