7 Rustic Steel (Bet Now: $3.20) needs a run to get ready for the Provincial-Midway Championship Final but I think he can take this out. Lot of arrogance about his win at Newcastle last time, helped by a peach from a very much in form Hugh Bowman, making a mess of his rivals. Clearly harder here, but he’s a horse with talent.

8 Taksu (Bet Now: $2.80) has found form and he can hold it. Blinkers went back on last time, he was down in the weights, he was smashed in betting and duly saluted in a dominant display under Schiller. Now he has got the win on the board, I think he can go right on with it now.

4 Poetic Charmer (Bet Now: $12.00) is a very honest animal for Team Snowden that should be around the mark. Far from disgraced two back in the Liverpool Cup before going back in grade here and was solid late without threatening behind Taksu. If the track was firmer, he’d be a serious winning chance. More a first four contender with a wet track.

I’m with 13 Money From The Sky (Bet Now: $8.50). Mark Newnham trained colt that was good late fresh on the Kenso track. He then went to Goulburn in a 1600m maiden. He beat nothing, he found the best ground, but I thought there was arrogance about the way he put them away. Should love the rise to 2000m and has good upside to come.

5 Sword Point (Bet Now: $3.70) will put himself on speed and look to give his all. Forgiving of the last start effort at Canterbury where he was off a break and caught wide no cover for the trip, so a total forgive. J Mac sticks, he’ll land on speed and up in trip, an improved showing is on the cards.

3 Character (Bet Now: $4.00) is ticking along nicely towards the Derby. Nash special got him home first up at Kembla before going to the Phar Lap where the sit/sprint didn’t suit but he stuck to the task pretty well in defeat behind Mr Mozart. This should top him off for the Derby and this has been a strong form race in recent years.

The set up just looks perfect for 7 Annavisto (Bet Now: $2.90). Not sure she beat much first up in the Tressady at Flemington but she made an absolute mess of them and ran sharp time late. She handles wet ground, got good upside to come and she gets the perfect cart over via Vangelic. Keen on her chances.

10 Promise Of Success (Bet Now: $5.50) is the proper definition of bursting to win a race. Given none in the Coolmore Classic and she did a remarkable job to get as close as she did behind Lighthouse in an excellent effort. I’d just love to see a positive ride, be within range and hopefully prove too good.

4 Vangelic (Bet Now: $18.00) will put itself on speed and look to give her all. Sat near the front in the Coolmore two weeks back and she tried hard, but the wheels were spinning on the wet ground, but far from disgraced in defeat behind Lighthouse. If she finds the front, she’ll give a bold sight.

11 Our Playboy (Bet Now: $3.70) could be a moral here. I thought he was excellent first up in a hot race at Flemington won by Kissonallforcheeks, a race which rated through the roof. He was there to win but being first up and on a firm deck, condition just gave way. He is fitter, gets to a more suitable trip, he swims, in the right camp…I just think he wins.

4 Brutality (Bet Now: $8.00) is already secured a run given he won the Villiers but Joe Pride knows this horse thrives on the back up. He was ridden a touch warm I thought in the Ajax and it took away something from his finale when fourth to Just Folk. This should top him off nicely for next Saturday.

9 The Frontman (Bet Now: $20.00) is an interesting runner. Former Kiwi that makes his Australian debut for Chris Waller. He doesn’t bring the A1 form from over there but what he does bring is very good wet track credentials and I thought a recent trial at Randwick was a good piece of work so watch the market.

10 She’s Ideel (Bet Now: $10.00) ran well in this race last year and I think she’s set up to repeat the dose. Narrow second in the Chipping Norton two back before going to the Australian Cup where the tempo and firm track was against her. Gets 2400m, wet track, back at home…she only runs well IMO.

11 Duais (Bet Now: $2.35) has to be rated as one of the hardest to beat. Arrogant win in the Australian Cup. She normally races best off a slow tempo but she lapped up the brutal Australian Cup tempo and she spanked them, including Spanish Mission. She’ll eat up 2400m. Just a slight query on a bottomless track.

4 Stockman (Bet Now: $17.00) isn’t 100% suited at WFA I feel, but he’s the best swimmer in the race and the rise to 2400m suits. Knuckled down strongly to win over 2000m two weeks back in the Sky High here, wearing down Mount Popa. Sydney Cup looks his go, but I think he’ll be more than competitive here.

The only knock with 6 Gypsy Goddess (Bet Now: $3.90) is the wet track. If she gets through it, she wins. She just has too much brilliance for this lot. Resumed over the mile two weeks ago at Eagle Farm and yes, she beat zero, but the arrogance of the win, and really the arrogance of her wins, it has been wins of a star. If she gets through the track, she wins.

4 Fangirl (Bet Now: $7.00) is racing like she will eat up 2000m and it’s a formula that Chris Waller has used to great success over the years. Surround into the Phar Lap into the Vinery Stud. This filly was given none in the Surround, then in the Phar Lap, she had no chance the way the race was run. I think you’ll see a more positive steer and IMO she is the best of the Sydney fillies.

7 Pretty Amazing (Bet Now: $9.00) looks like she will eat up 2000m. She found the fast lane in the Kembla Grange Classic at Goulburn but she was strong to the line and dominant I thought. She keeps winning, winning impressively, and she is racing like 2000m suits. Has to be respected.

12 Gravina (Bet Now: $2.90) has come back as a gelding and has come back in good order. Resumed with a dominant win at Randwick. He then went to the Maurice McCarten two weeks ago and worked home pretty well without threatening behind Shelby Sixtysix. If he’s within range 400m out, he can win.

18 Maotai (Bet Now: $3.10) is a big query here. He trialled here on Tuesday and bolted in front, winning by over ten lengths in fast time, as expected given his racing style. I normally hate trials like that, especially backing up four days later, but he was several weeks between runs so hopefully that trial just takes the freshness out of him.

11 Prime Star… (Bet Now: $41.00) where is he at? Trialled up quite well prior to resuming in the Maurice McCarten where he did too much work in the run, was keen, and just left himself with nothing left for the straight behind Shelby Sixtysix. His best is definitely good enough, so want to give him another chance and include.
