Back Me

1 Heroic Son (Bet Now: $4.00) is the one with hard race experience/fitness under the belt and is proven on wet ground and has home track advantage, so he ticks plenty of boxes. Looked home two weeks ago at Doomben but couldn’t withstand the finale of Mishani Mental in a driving go. Holds his form, hard to beat.

Danger

12 Perfect Mission (Bet Now: $3.40) needs a couple of scratchings to gain a start but I think connections would be hoping she does because she looks smart. Daughter of The Mission that trialled over 1000m here a couple of weeks back and thought she moved very well, winning the trial and beating Rose Of Shiraz, who won last Saturday at the Sunny Coast, so it does read well.

Long Shot

10 Louisiana Star (Bet Now: $19.00) is a Star Witness filly on debut. She has been given two trials to get ready for start one, so has had a good grounding for what is likely to be a brutal 1100m assignment. Both trials were good pieces of work and is trained here, so she’s in with a shout.

Race 2. (13:38) Tattersall's Life Members-bm80 2200m

Back Me

Playing a straight bat with 1 Youngblood (Bet Now: $3.30), who is a proven wet tracker in this race. Comes through the Southern Rock race from Doomben. They came with similar runs and drew clear to fight the finish out, but had to settle for a narrow but game second. Has good track/distance stats and loves getting his toe in. Tricky race, but he’ll do me.

Danger

The wet track does concern me with 2 Southern Rock (Bet Now: $5.00) but he did win on a Soft6 two weeks ago at Doomben and was strong to the line late in wearing down an in form Youngblood. It was a drying Soft6, so that is the concern, that this could get bottomless. But, hard to knock the way he’s racing.

Long Shot

3 Nemingah (Bet Now: $6.00) is racing well at the moment for the Ed O’Rourke camp. Ran three weeks back in the Country Classic at Rosehill in what was a proper staying contest and he battled on really well when third to surprise winner Real Time Warrior. Hard 2200m no issue and saves his best for when he gets his toe in.

Race 3. (14:13) Tattersall's Members (bm75) 1800m

Back Me

15 Dear Sibling (Bet Now: $6.50) has more upside than most and juice in the track should suit. Positive ride from Wilson-Taylor saw him get the job done on the Kris Lees trained stayer three weeks ago at Eagle Farm. He was there to be run down but found under pressure, kicked hard and was too good. Hard to beat.

Danger

8 Continuation (Bet Now: $5.50) has more upside than most and juice in the track should suit. Positive ride from Wilson-Taylor saw him get the job done on the Kris Lees trained stayer three weeks ago at Eagle Farm. He was there to be run down but found under pressure, kicked hard and was too good. Hard to beat.

Long Shot

3 Alderman (Bet Now: $11.00) is three weeks between runs for Lindsay Gough since racing over this trip at Eagle Farm. Was on speed throughout under Wendy Peel and gave a solid kick but couldn’t quite finish it off and tired late behind Continuation. Loves give in the track, but not too much I think, so he’s a chance if he gets a soft lead.

Race 4. (14:48) The Tattler Hcp 1300m

Back Me

2 Minto’s Paradise (Bet Now: $3.50) is a Les Kelly trained three year old that is above average. 2/2 this time in, both wins coming on his home track here. First up beat the older horses in a Class 2 before going to a 1400m 3YO race, made a mess of them and smashed the clock. He’ll take beating here.

Danger

6 Wardaddy (Bet Now: $2.90) looks a good prospect for Kris Lees. Narrow second first up at Port Macquarie before going to Doomben when on speed and fought hard, kicking strongly, but just couldn’t hold out the finale of talented filly Me Me Lagarde. Proven on wet ground and 1300m should be fine. Has to be respected.

Long Shot

7 Lime Soda (Bet Now: $8.00) rises a bit in class/depth here but is trained on the track and has upside to come. Team Edmonds trained filly that resumed over 1100m at Ipswich and knuckled down strongly from off the speed to win narrowly but impressively. On breeding, the wet track should be okay and with upside, is in with a shout.

Race 5. (15:28) Tattersall's Functions (c3) 1200m

Back Me

5 Tamilaide (Bet Now: $3.10) is a quality animal for Les Kelly that resumes and this stable on their home track here, they always have to be respected. This son of Adelaide hasn’t raced since July 24 at Doomben where he was a narrow second to Magic Conqueror, who got it soft in front and was too strong late. Good trial a couple of weeks ago here and the market will be fascinating to see which way it goes.

Danger

11 Pull Anchor (Bet Now: $12.00) doesn’t have the best of winning strike rates but she’s an honest mare for Tony Gollan that isn’t far off a win I feel. Seemed to have her chance two weeks ago at Doomben when off the speed and chased hard, but couldn’t quite get there behind stablemate Salateen. Back to a Class 3, she appeals.

Long Shot

12 Bad Barista (Bet Now: $21.00) can bounce back. This mare resumed two weeks back at Doomben where she did a bit of work early before eventually slotting in one off but the early burn just told on her late and she tired behind Salateen. Better for the run, an improved showing is on the cards.

Race 6. (16:08) Tattersall's Weddings Plate-c6 1400m

Back Me

This looks a clear target race for 10 Morethannumberone (Bet Now: $2.80). Freshened up after bolting in over this track/distance on September 18. Freshened up and ran two weeks ago at Doomben where he was smashed in betting but got a mile out of his ground and spotted those in front way too much head start. Home track, if he’s within range, he wins.

Danger

16 Dzsenifer (Bet Now: $7.50) is a quality mare for Gary Duncan that should be around the mark. Unwanted in betting when resuming a fortnight back at Doomben but she is honest and just tries every time she steps out when fourth to Don’t Stop, beaten 0.6L. Hard to beat here I’d suggest.

Long Shot

8 Slow Hands (Bet Now: $35.00) might want one more but his best is good enough to sneak a first four spot. Resumed at Doomben where it looked like he needed the run and that is how he raced, finishing down the track behind Don’t Stop. Fitter, bigger track, upside, he can run a much improved race.

Race 7. (16:48) Recognition Stakes 1400m

Back Me

2 Niccanova (Bet Now: $3.90) loves getting his toe in so he gets conditions to suit and a great chance to get a win on the board this prep. Steve Tregea trained gelding that resumed two weeks ago in the Keith Noud. Didn’t get a whole lot of room to extend but was close up behind Tambo’s Mate. He should get room to move with the wet track and with upside to come, he’s going to take a power of beating.

Danger

3 The Harrovian (Bet Now: $2.45) is a key threat for me. He’s a ripper that resumes for Team Edmonds. Hasn’t raced since the Stradbroke where he ran a belter when a close up sixth to Tyzone. That is clearly A1 form for a race like this, good trial to get ready and Callow on, he’ll take beating.

Long Shot

6 Silvera (Bet Now: $21.00) won’t mind getting his feet wet. Tony Gollan trained gelding that also resumed in the Keith Noud where he was back near last in the run and just whacked away without threatening. Has good wet track stats and the wide gate, at this stage of the day, should be a positive.

Race 8. (17:28) Eureka Stud Classic 1200m

Back Me

Gee 1 Wandabaa (Bet Now: $3.40) looks well placed. Quality mare for Kris Lees that comes here off the back of a career best effort when a closing second to Lost And Running after sitting wide throughout. Massive effort. 1200m on wet ground, set weights, if last start hasn’t busted her…she just wins this.

Danger

2 Kisukano (Bet Now: $9.50) can bounce back. Michael Nolan trained mare that was a drifter in the market first up at Eagle Farm on Cup Day but despite that, I thought she worked to the line pretty well when third to Kylease, beaten just under three lengths. If she can sit closer in the run, she’ll be hard to beat.

Long Shot

6 Tycoon Evie (Bet Now: $14.00) is a beauty. Very genuine mare that was good against the pattern fresh behind Le Palmier. Then went to Eagle Farm again, ridden positively, and with the run under the belt, found plenty late and was strong in winning. More room for improvement, she’s hard to beat.

Race 9. (18:10) Tattersall's Arcade (bm80) 1200m

Back Me

12 Palaisipan (Bet Now: $6.00) should love the rise to 1200m for Chris Munce. Resumed two weeks ago over 1050m at Doomben where the race shape wasn’t to her liking but she was very good late when second to impressive winner Lyrical Girl. Fitter and up to 1200m, she’ll prove hard to hold out.

Danger

10 Ingear (Bet Now: $5.50) has to be respected. Tony Gollan trained mare that got control at Eagle Farm on Cup Day and really, from the home turn, she was the only horse you wanted to be on and she made a mess of them. Good test for here, but I think she’ll measure up for sure.

Long Shot

8 Centrefire (Bet Now: $17.00) is three weeks between runs for Chris Munce since contesting a strong 85 three weeks ago at Eagle Farm where she was kept safe in the market. Had a suck run behind the speed and was there to win but lacked the class to finish it off behind Tycoon Evie. First four contender against this lot.
